Chelsea will be selling a handful of players whenever they are able to buy and sell players again. We offer some helpful suggestions on where they can go.

Everyone has their preferences for which Chelsea should players should be out the door for whatever amount the club can get for them, and the club no doubt have that list written in dark pencil – if not ink – by this point. But where to for these soon-to-be ex-Blues? A few possibilities….

Michy Batshuayi: RB Leipzig

Batshuayi has always been the kind of player to make an impact off the bench or in starts against lower league oppositions, but never takes the mantle of the star striker. He’s floated around in loan spells after failing to impress his first two Chelsea managers, with the best loan coming in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund.

Emerson: Central Coast Mariners

Central Coast Mariners gave Usain Bolt an eight week trial in 2018, so we know they value pace, which is about all Emerson’s most loyal fans ever have to praise him for. (George Perry)

Kurt Zouma: Any Premier League club

Seriously, any Premier League club looking for him. Everton, possibly, or Burnley would be perfect. Brighton or Crystal Palace could be a good spot for him, as well. He is the sort of player that the Italian clubs would like to try and rebuild into the player he honestly should be, but he has everything to go right into just about any English side. Jorginho: Juventus, AS Roma or Napoli

This is a tough one because Chelsea so very much overpaid for a non-essential skill player because they were trying to placate Maurizio Sarri for no reason. People acting like Jorginho is the second coming of Xabi Alonso doesn’t make him that. He’s simply not a good enough player to get Roman Abramovich’s money back. Juventus are unlikely to overpay because they’re not too thrilled by Sarri, either.

Even so, Jorginho to Juventus makes the most sense, followed by Roma or Napoli (possibly in a Kalidou Koulibaly swap of some sort). But no matter what, Chelsea loses money. (Barrett Rouen)

Danny Drinkwater: WWE Raw

Olivier Giroud: Inter Milan

Olivier Giroud deserves a league title to cap off his career – a “big five” league title, a real league title, not Major League Soccer or the Qatari league or something. It obviously was never going to happen at Arsenal, and things just didn’t work out that way for him at Chelsea.

Antonio Conte wants him at Inter Milan, Conte is building a dynasty at Inter Milan that will win at least one Serie A title in the next two seasons (plus maybe one this year) and Giroud wanted to join Conte this past January. Make it happen, so Giroud can have a scudetto next to his World Cup, Europa League, FA Cups and Ligue 1 trophies. (George Perry)

Emerson: FC Porto

Emerson is the rare “one month wonder,” as he was lauded as the best left back in the Premier League, nay the world, by ChelsTwit in September. What followed was a speedy fall from grace, helped along by a revitalized Marcos Alonso.

Next. Three players Chelsea should avoid like the plag-... ohhhh, too soon. dark

A move to Porto as part of the Alex Telles deal could help usher him into a new beginning, where he could rebuild his reputation in a country with a familiar culture. (Varun Dani)
