2. Tammy Abraham vs. Leicester centerbacks

Another bout that attracts the attention of many is the battle between Tammy Abraham and the centerbacks of Leicester. In the two Premier League matches between the sides this season, Abraham has been kept off the scoresheet by Leicester’s defense.

However, that’s hardly a shot at the young striker as the Foxes’ back line has been brilliant all season long. In fact, Leicester’s conceded a near league-low 29 goals, second to Liverpool (21). In the clubs’ first meeting at Stamford Bridge, Mason Mount hit the Foxes after a Wilfred Ndidi error and Rudiger scored a brace on set pieces during the latest game. However, Abraham’s been kept quiet aside from a penalty shout during the last trip to the King Power.

Abraham, who is Chelsea’s leading scorer this season, has been kept out of the starting line-up over the last two games by Lampard. Olivier Giroud got the nod in both matches and strangely enough, looks to be the Blues’ No. 1 option up top at the moment.

A big game from Abraham would see him claim the starting striker role back. He’ll surely be given the opportunity considering Giroud’s likely earned a break after a heroic effort against Man City. However, the question isn’t whether or not Abraham will start, it’s whether or not he can find the back of the net.

Leicester is in the middle of a funk as a squad, Brendan Rodgers is going to want to come away with a win in this tie. He’ll deploy the usual suspects in defense in Ben Chilwell, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira. So, it’ll be up to the likes of Abraham, Christian Pulisic and maybe Pedro to use speed to offset the strengths of Leicester’s back four. Luckily, the Foxes’ fullbacks tend to trot forward in attack, leaving them exposed and giving Abraham pockets to run into. Abraham is certainly a player to keep an eye on as his quest for goals continues at the King Power.
