Christian Pulisic (No. 22) Right winger, United States

Whilst Loftus-Cheek has curtailed his second coming, Christian Pulisic has picked up from his prequel in fantastic fashion.

He has gained superhero status in the past week with Captain America scoring the equaliser at Villa after coming off the bench. These heroics were topped by the terrific solo goal scored against City, made more impressive by his anticipation to bounce on the mistake by Mendy.

Now on eight goals and six assists, Pulisic really does look the part and deserves another start as his Chelsea career is just beginning to flourish.

Tammy Abraham (No. 9) Striker, England

Olivier Giroud has spearheaded the attack with the purpose of a person who has just been offered a one-year contract extension, repaying the faith installed by the higher powers with a goal and a real focal-point for his fellow forwards.

At 33, his legs needed time to recover, swapped for the fresher, younger version in Tammy Abraham. Two substitute appearances thus for the Blues No. 9, who is still stuck on 13 goals and will be desperate to kick-start his scoring form that earned him his plaudits, as well as a place in the senior England national team.

Pedro (No. 11) Left winger, Spain

Talking of contracts, Pedro was part of the negotiations that saw him, and Willian, extend their stay to cover the conclusion of the campaign. The Brazilian’s next destination is Italy, having agreed terms to join Roma in the next transfer window, so he’ll be licking his chops at the chance to conclude his career with a cup glory.

He has been limited to a handful of appearances during his farewell term in London, and it would be a nice sentiment to send off a good servant to the club with silverware to add to his growing collection. Even at 32, Pedro still has pace to burn and a touch to be admired, a fine veteran to Lampard’s youthful army.
