Jorginho (No. 5) Defensive midfielder, Italy

Jorginho has only made one appearance since the restart and many of his fans have written best-sellers of how he steadied the ship when he come on and ensured a Chelsea victory against Crystal Palace on Tuesday. That wasn’t the case. Jorginho did not calm his teammates, he didn’t steady the ship and he most definitely didn’t ensure victory. He did get a lot of touches and slow down the game, but look no further than the last five to ten minutes and see how ‘steady’ the match really was. He will likely start, though because Chelsea’s two best central midfielders are having fitness concerns and Billy Gilmour’s picked up a season-ending injury. This is his chance to give Lampard a selection headache going forward.

Mason Mount (No. 19) Central midfielder, England

Mount does not get enough credit for how well he has adapted to Premier League football, especially for his first season in the top flight. The pace and maturity in his game is not talked about nearly enough. Many have questioned his talents, but he has shown that he is up to the task. Mount starts as many games as he does because of how much he contributes to the team, not favoritism. His pressing, work rate and defensive awareness are unmatched. Expect him to start again as one of the most durable and reliable names on the team sheet.

Ross Barkley (No. 8) Central midfielder, England

Barkley has been a different player since the restart—and even right before the break. Distributing quickly and slowing the ball down when needed; both are things Barkley is good at. Making himself available as a passing option, winning fouls, making runs into the box and scoring goals are other skills of the English midfielder. He has been very good since football resumed and after the rough season he’s had, it’s great to see him shake off that mentality and go again.
