Willian (Right winger): 5

Willian gave away the ball that led to Liverpool’s first goal, but his blocked shot led to Chelsea’s opening goal when it fell at Giroud’s feet. The Brazilian gives and the Brazilian takes away—or something like that. He was subbed off early in the second half; he largely struggled to impact the match overall. Willian was given a massive task and he was simply too gassed to perform what was asked of him. He finally got some rest as the Blues will need him for the match against Wolves.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): 6.5

Giroud found himself on the scoresheet again on Wednesday. The Frenchman was at the right place at the right time, which is always good for a striker. Aside from that, he was silenced by the world’s best centerback, Virgil van Dijk. You win some, you lose some. This performance doesn’t take away from his incredible achievements since the break.

Mason Mount (Left winger): 6

Mount made his 50th appearance for Chelsea in the same season he made his debut. He is the first Chelsea academy graduate ever to accomplish this feat. While there is something to be said for that, this is not a performance he’ll want to remember. Mount was a part of the triple change Lampard made early in the second half. He watched from the sideline as his replacement stole the show, giving Chelsea a sense of hope—something he failed to do today. It’ll be good to have Mount back in midfield vs. Wolves.

Christian Pulisic (Left winger): 9

Captain America, the American boy wonder, the Baby Jesus; the list of nicknames for Pulisic goes on and on. He showed the world his ability today, almost single-handedly bringing the Blues back from the dead with a breathtaking assist and a wonder-goal. The 21-year-old brought his tally to 10 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. You can give him whatever nickname you want, but be sure to call his performances what they are—sensational.

Tammy Abraham (Striker): 7.5

Abraham found the net once again, finding himself on the receiving end of a world class Pulisic assist. His last two appearances have been encouraging after a less-than-stellar stint. With a few matches left across all competitions, Abraham could still have a large part to play this year.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Right winger): 8

Hudson-Odoi showed us something on Wednesday that we haven’t seen since before his major injury. He made some incredible runs and added an assist to his season stats. Hudson-Odoi was a part of Lampard’s triple substitution (he, Abraham and Pulisic) that breathed new life into the Blues. The trio gave Chelsea a second-wind that had Klopp shaking in his boots for a good 10 minutes. Overall, a wonderful performance from the 19-year-old.
