Callum Hudson-Odoi (Right winger): 7
Hudson-Odoi was the unlucky one on the day. A wonderful goal—the best of his young career by a country mile—was disallowed due to a silly VAR decision. The young winger’s goal being waved off was the final nail in Chelsea’s figurative coffin. After that, he made a few decent runs and looked threatening trying to break the high line; however, his quality took a nasty turn as the game went on. This match was an excellent opportunity for Hudson-Odoi to showcase his talent, safe to say he did so. He’s earned a starting role opposite Hakim Ziyech if Christian Pulisic isn’t ready for the start of next season.
Tammy Abraham (Striker): 6
Abraham had another tough day at the office. He was the reason Hudson-Odoi’s wonder goal was disallowed and that was just one of the many offsides calls against the striker. In Abraham’s defense, he wasn’t getting much service due to Bayern’s expert press, but he didn’t do much with the few chances he was given. Luckily, even on a bad day, Abraham found the back of the net courtesy of a Manuel Neuer howler.
Mason Mount (Left winger): 6
Raise your hand if you can’t wait for Mount to return to the midfield. Mount’s been a standout player this season, but he needs a break. He was run into the ground and playing out wide took its toll on the Englishman. Unfortunately, Lampard didn’t have any other options today. Mount was pretty good all things considered, but it’s clear to see where his positional future lies.
Olivier Giroud (Striker): N/A
Giroud came on as a sub in the 81′ and largely failed to do anything. The game was done and dusted by that time and it only got worse. Giroud was ineffective, but by no fault of his own. He can be proud of the season he’s had and the Blues would be foolish not to keep him around next year.
