Chelsea concludes its season and travels to Munich for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, but who do our writers expect to win?

Chelsea takes a trip to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League knockout stage. The Allianz Arena plays host to what could be a runaway fixture for the hosts. Munich holds a 3-0 aggregate advantage heading into the second leg, meaning the Blues need to score at least three goals in order to force extra time; four to win it outright. Easier said than done though as Frank Lampard’s side has a near impossible task ahead of it.

The Blues are battered, bruised and missing a plethora of players. Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic, Willian and Pedro will all be absent from the squad while Marcos Alonso and Jorginho picked up suspensions. The inexperienced team fielded by Lampard has nothing to lose in the end as the season is likely over anyways, but what do our experts think the score will end up as?

Barrett Rouen: 1-4 Chelsea

We’re going to win the Champions League. Callum Hudson-Odoi is finally going to have the match we have waited for since the youth World Cup.

Hugo Amaya: 0-4 Chelsea

I believed in miracles once and I’ll do it again this time. Chelsea is in no position to beat Bayern, but a miracle will happen and the Blues won’t concede any goals. Somehow, they’ll put four past Bayern. It will be a glorious game where Chelsea is going to counter attack to perfection. The Blues will only create four chances the entire game, but take all four of them and score. Nevertheless, get ready to sweat, scream and cry almost the entire match as Bayern will come close several times.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and two from Tammy Abraham.

Kevin Peacock: 2-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern may well be ring rusty, but it leads Chelsea 3-0, so the German’s retain the upper-hand massively. An early goal by Lampard’s side will cause some Germanic jitters, but recent events have stretched Chelsea’s squad to its limits. A lack of real leadership in the squad will be the ultimate let-down in terms of result. I don’t predict Chelsea defeats generally but in this final game of the season, why not? Bayern to cruise through on the night—the end.

Varun Dani: 2-5 Chelsea

Sometimes you have to throw logic out the window and just believe in the spirit of your football club. We learnt that at Munich back in 2012 and it’s time we recreate that magic. New heroes will be born, new memories created.

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 3-1 Bayern Munich

The Blues are about to find out what it means to be missing key players. Even with a full squad, they barely had a chance, but with a squad missing Willian, Pulisic and Azpilicueta, it makes you unable to see past a Bayern thrashing. Chelsea has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Bayern would want to avoid a Liverpool-Barca headline, as such all the pressure is on it, and that doesn’t bode well for the Blues.

Matt Hancock-Bruce: 2-0 Bayern Munich

With a three-goal lead heading into the second tie, it will be business as usual for the German giants. Chelsea head into the match riddled with injuries and the Bavarian’s attacking power will simply be too much for a shaky Blues defence. I expect a comfortable win for the home side.

Gabe Henderson: 3-1 Bayern Munich

The Blues are lucky to score in this two-legged tie. Bayern Munich will coast through to the quarterfinals in the end, bringing Chelsea’s season to a close.

Michael DeVito: 4-0 Bayern Munich

Quality over potential.

Jake Leach: 2-0 Bayern Munich

It will be a dull game with a friendly vibe to it. Bayern will score either side of the half and it will be a 90 minutes none of us will get back.

Scott Brant: 2-1 Bayern Munich

With so many injuries and two suspensions, there is just no way Chelsea has a chance. It’s over, no point in watching, praying for a miracle, wearing a certain kit or watching in your favorite chair—game, set, match. The fat lady has sung or left the building … I think. No superstition will help at this point; wink, wink.

Abhishek Pancholi: 1-4 Chelsea

It’s time to go big or go home.
