Callum Hudson-Odoi (Right winger): 3

A very disappointing performance by the promising winger. It is safe to say that everyone was expecting at least a goal, an assist or magic all around from Hudson-Odoi. However, nothing happened for him. Too often he over complicated the play, ran himself into a corner or decided to cut inside more times than he should’ve. Instead of keeping it simple, Hudson-Odoi wanted to do too much to impress, which he didn’t do. Fortunately for him, Chelsea is through to the next round of the Carabao Cup—which means he will get another chance. However, as far as the Premier League or other important games goes, he is unlikely to feature as a starter.

Tammy Abraham (Striker): 10

An incredible and versatile performance by Abraham overall. Yes, Chelsea was playing against a weaker opposition, but Abraham was full of confidence. Netting one goal and two outstanding assists, Abraham showed that he isn’t a one-season wonder. More importantly, he made a statement that he deserves to play regular football for Chelsea.

Abraham’s game was fantastic in all aspects. His hold-up play, passing and retrieval of the ball were all top class; but what impressed the most was his communication and connection with Havertz. This in particular will give the fans a lot to look forward to in the near future.

Mason Mount (Left winger): 9

As always, a solid performance from one of Chelsea’s top academy players. Mason Mount ran all over the pitch, secured possession of the ball, created chances, missed some chances and even got an assist. Mount was very unlucky to not get on the scoresheet, as he did everything but score. However, his work rate was great, which will please the manager and the fans alike.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): 8

A goal and a some good interplays in a short period of time, typical Olivier Giroud. Although this could be the Frenchman’s final season in blue, other players have a lot to learn from the veteran. Giroud played well with Mount and Hudson-Odoi, and got himself a goal for his troubles. Although it did not mean much, since the match was practically over, it was still satisfying to the big man up top get his moment.
