West Brom vs. Chelsea Player Ratings: No kudos for carelessness
RW, Mason Mount, 8
Mount did not stop running throughout the game. He stepped into the midfield to help out and even went to the defense to help add bodies there. He created a lot of chances and for a long time it looked like he was the only one giving Chelsea hope. He literally kick started the comeback by scoring a goal that he had no right to score. It’s funny that it’s Mount’s place in the team that is being questioned.
LW, Timo Werner, 4
Werner did not impact the game much. He took a number of shots, hit the woodwork and missed a big chance. He lost the ball often, cornered himself a lot and his ball movement was not sharp. This could also be due to fatigue. Werner looked off for most of the game, unlike in his first two Premier League appearances. He did not get much service, thanks to the midfielders and fullbacks.
ST, Tammy Abraham, 6.5
Abraham was OK, but that’s it. He missed Chelsea’s biggest opportunity to score in the first half. He tried to keep his position for much of the game and he was hardly ever in the right position to pounce on a loose ball in the box. Several good crosses flashed across the face of goal but there was no one to turn it in. He did score the goal, but they was no way he could’ve missed that.
