Chelsea caps off its road stretch with a trip to Turf Moor, but how do The Pride of London writers think the Blues will fare at Burnley?

Chelsea travels back to England’s northern parts after spending some time in Manchester last week. This time, the Blues take on Burnley in a Halloween day match-up. Frank Lampard’s side will be looking to reach into its goodie bag and pull out a few goals. A win at Turf Moor would be a huge confidence boost for Chelsea heading into the Champions League tie against Rennes, but it would also see the Blues keep pace with the league’s leaders. Here are The Pride of London‘s staff predictions for the Burnley match:

Scott Brant: 0-1 Chelsea

The Blues may have a few changes for this one, as well. Lampard has been very meticulous in his changes, it has been very steady thus far under his leadership. I expect the Blues to get a win, but it won’t be easy, never seems to be against Burnley. Sean Dyche will definitely muddy the waters—so to speak—and try to take the Blues out of their game. Tammy Abraham to score after coming on for Timo Werner. The Blues get the points, but it isn’t pretty, and thats OK. Sometimes it has to be that way.

Nathaniel Kay: 1-0 Burnley

Chelsea hasn’t conceded a goal in three games! Burnley hasn’t scored a goal in two, so typically there is only one way this is going to go. The Blues dominate everything other than the scoreline as Sean Dyche out-traditions his fellow manager and relies heavily on set-pieces to steal the three points.

Varun Dani: 0-2 Chelsea

After a tiring trip to Russia, the Blues will be on the road against a stubborn Burnley side. Dyche’s men may not be in the best of form, but they will make Lampard’s team work for the points ’till the end. The defense will continue to impress and the attack will continue to reconnect. Abraham to take care of business.

More from Premier League

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea fans now have considerable confidence in the defense, this will be important going to Turf Moor. The attack will sort itself out, as well. The Blues were on their way to a 4-0 Burnley drubbing last season until Chelsea conceded two to dampen the excitement of the win. Burnley gave Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur a very difficult game last week, and it would be even more difficult for Chelsea. Hakim Ziyech to open his Premier League goal account.

Tan Yi Hao: 0-4 Chelsea

Burnley has been absolutely horrible this season with just a solitary point on the board so far. This presents a unique opportunity for the Blues to leverage on. With the defence now solid with Mendy and Silva both in line to start, an attacking 4-3-3 with Mount and Havertz as the two No. 8s in the middle should present too much of a threat for Burnley to handle.

Abhishek Pancholi: 0-4 Chelsea

The Blues’ defence seems to have finally found some sort of cohesion and coordination over recent weeks—now it’s time for the attack to click. Burnley’s prehistoric style of football will be a good test for Chelsea’s fantastic four of Werner, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Ziyech. Boy will they ace it. The further Burnley retreats into its shell, the harder Chelsea will hit the Clarets, scoring four times and coming close to adding a few more throughout the game. A footballing feast awaits.

Matt Hancock-Bruce: 0-3 Chelsea

Burnley has only scored three goals in the league this season, 10 less than the Blues. As such, there is no reason to believe they should trouble Mendy while a strong midweek performance should give Ziyech and Pulisic the confidence to lead Chelsea to a comfortable victory.

Mike Malley: 1-3 Chelsea

Burnley has definitely been one of the more forgettable teams of this young season, as Dyche’s boys seem to have lost their edge. The Blues will be full of confidence coming off the demolition in Krasnodar, so the game won’t be close, regardless of the final score. Maybe Burnely can sneak a goal past Mendy, but this should be a comfortable victory for Chelsea.

Michael DeVito: 0-3 Chelsea

The club has the ball rolling; the attack is gaining solid momentum, as well. Silva being back in is a plus and Mendy on the backline—still a key.

Gabe Henderson: 0-2 Chelsea

The Blues’ defense—including Mendy, of course—has ben excellent in the past few matches. Burnley provides a much tougher task defensively than any recent side because of the numbers Dyche’s side defends with. It’ll be a tall task, but the attacking talent of the Blues will find a breakthrough mid-game and then put the game away later on. In the end, a bit nervy, but a well deserved three points.

Travis Tyler: 0-3 Chelsea

Lampard starts things off with the dual No. 8s and Burnley can’t cope. The closest the Clarets get is when Dyche starts to bring on subs with a few worms…err, words, but it isn’t enough to stop Chelsea.

Kevin Peacock: 1-3 Chelsea

After three consecutive clean sheets, Lampard will be hoping his side can secure a league win without conceding. Burnley could be considered a tough opponent, but the Blues’ guile will out perform the Claret’s muscle. Chelsea to win 3-1 with goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and Werner.

Nate Hofmann: 1-2 Chelsea

It’s a third straight away match for the Blues, right off the back of a 2,000 mile trek to and from Russia. Fortunately, the Champions League is self-aware enough to allow five subs, and Lampard used all of them in addition to a bit of rotation in the starting XI. Burnley should be just the kind of slow, plodding opponent this jet-lagged Blues side needs to get some much needed points on the board in the league. It won’t be pretty, but it will be enough.

Hugo Amaya: 3-5 Chelsea

Since we are back to the Premier League, we are back are rolling dice. Since anything can happen, 5-3 seems about right for the Blues. Chelsea have had good results, and good defensive qualities lately, but what is a Blues game without a heart attack? They will work hard in all areas, but good counter attacks from Burnley will deny the Blues the clean sheet. However. Lampard’s team will outwork and outscore the opposition by putting five in the back of the net. An exiting win and three points.

Oliver Smith: 2-4 Chelsea

A repeat of the score line from last year, but with a twist. A blazing back and forth game will see Burnley hit the post and have a goal ruled out by VAR before finally scoring from a set piece. The Blues nick one back before the break then score three quick goals before Burnley scores another for a nervy finish. Werner, Havertz and Pulisic to score plus a heavy Burnley deflection own-goal.

Next. Blues' connections with the upcoming opponent, Burnley. dark
