Chelsea player ratings vs. West Ham: Abraham, Silva save the Blues
Christian Pulisic (Right winger): 7/10
Pulisic played on the right, which is not what he usually does, but even then he was good for the most part. He was his usual explosive self, and had some flashes of his best form. He had that one chance where he somehow ended up with the ball after facing two defenders, only for his touch to be a little too heavy to complete the Eden Hazard-esque finish. The American had a brilliant set up for Werner, where he hit West Ham on the break, took his time and played a perfect pass to Werner—who scuffed the shot at the end. Pulisic also played a crucial part in the third and final goal. He combined really well with Abraham and dribbled around two West Ham players before playing it to Mount. You know what happened afterwards—good performance from the winger.
Tammy Abraham (Striker): 9/10
One of the stars of the show, Abraham was simply phenomenal. It took him a little while to get into the game, but when he did, there was no stopping him. He was an outlet for almost all the long balls from deep by Silva, Jorginho, etc. The No. 9 was important in winning headers and laying the ball off to wingers as he was heavily involved in holding the ball up. Abraham capped the night off with a brace to highlight his brilliant performance.
Timo Werner (Left winger): 4.5/10
Just wasn’t the night for the German once again as everything was off. His passing, his dribbling, his movement and hell, even his shooting—especially his shooting. Werner missed so many great chances which would’ve gone in on a normal day. He notched the assist for Abraham’s first goal, which was fortunate, maybe? Other than that, he had a shot that hit the crossbar towards the end of the game. The rating might seem harsh, but he really wasn’t good today.
Kai Havertz (right-wing): N/A
Kai Havertz came on very late in the second half and didn’t have much to do. He could’ve helped Abraham score his third of the night, but his pass was a little off—that’s about it.
