Mason Mount (Attacking Midfielder): 9

Do Mason Mount haters still exist? Another outstanding display from the 22-year-old, but this time, it was a complete performance capped by a wonderfully taken goal. Playing Mount in the No. 10 role was another show of faith from Tuchel. Mount repaid this faith by making a mark in the final third – something he failed to do against rivals Tottenham Hotspur. His late run into the box for his well-taken goal was reminiscent of Frank Lampard, and I am sure the greatest midfielder to ever play in the Premier League was watching on with a big smile on his face. If Mount continues this form and is able to add more goal contributions, Chelsea has a terrifyingly good player on their hands.

Timo Werner (Striker): 8.5

Without a goal once again, but with every game, Timo Werner is slowly improving. Despite his low confidence, his work rate cannot be questioned, and one can only imagine that a goal is around the corner. Werner played a big role in both goals, assisting the first, and winning the penalty for the second. The German striker was constantly on the move, making clever runs in between defenders. As his teammates become more familiar with him, they will soon begin picking out those runs.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): 5

Olivier Giroud returned to the starting line-up for the first time after the 0-0 stalemate against Wolves in Tuchel’s first game in charge. The idea for starting Giroud was to have a point of reference that Werner and Mount could play off of. However, the Frenchman did not justify his selection. His hold-up play was poor, winning just two of seven duels. With Sheffield United pressing high for the majority of the game, Giroud’s lack of pace was evident, which prompted his early withdrawal.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Striker/Substitute): 7

Callum Hudson-Odoi has flourished under Tuchel so far. One could argue that he has been the most influential player for Chelsea recently. The 20-year-old was rested to begin with, having started the previous three games. benefitted the most with the new manager coming in. Despite playing just 28 minutes, the dynamic winger produced two key passes and completed all 13 of his attempted passes. The young prodigy is looking playing with extreme confidence at the moment, and if he can avoid another serious injury, there is no doubt that he can reach the levels once expected of him.
