Mason Mount (No. 19) Attacking midfielder, England

Mason Mount did not play any part in the cup game against Barnsley, which means that he will be starting this game. Tuchel recently mentioned how Billy Gilmour was No. 4 in the pecking order behind Jorginho, Kovacic and N’Golo Kante. This was a clear indication of how Tuchel wants Mount to play in an advanced position. While Mount has played as a deep midfielder before, he has done well as one of the two inverted forwards in Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 system. Mount is in great form and we should expect another industrious performance from Chelsea’s best player.

Timo Werner (No. 11) Striker, Germany

Timo Werner is slowly starting to look like the player that used to bang goals left, right and center in the Bundesliga. He is getting into the right positions and picking the right passes. What is even more satisfying is the fact that he is getting his confidence back and playing positively. Werner was the Man of the Match against Sheffield United as he was causing all sorts of trouble for the Blades’ back line. The German should be leading Chelsea’s line against Newcastle and a goal seems coming, don’t you think?

Callum Hudson-Odoi (No. 20) Attacking midfielder, England

Hudson-Odoi has a special bond with Tuchel. He has played as a wingback and as a winger in recent times. Hudson-Odoi has been one of Chelsea’s best players ever since the German’s arrival. He has played in multiple positions and the manager seems to have a lot of faith in the young man, which is refreshing to see. The Englishman should start against Newcastle and wreak havoc down the right side, again!
