Mason Mount (Advanced midfielder): 7.5/10

Mason Mount once again played well. Creating the most chances for the Blues, some from corners, if not all. His only defensive contributions were winning three out of seven duels and making one tackle. He was useful on other fronts though, maintaining his work rate for the whole 70 minutes he was on the pitch.

Tammy Abraham (Striker): N/A

Tammy Abraham really didn’t do much to deserve a rating. He completed all four of his attempted passes and only had seven touches of the ball by the time he got injured.

Timo Werner (Striker): 6.5/10

Timo Werner finally got a goal. The goal was coming, to be fair to the German. He had been getting into good goal scoring positions, which a lot of strikers struggle with. It had been 100 days and 1000 playing minutes since his last league goal though; it was difficult watching him struggle, but it’s good to see him smiling again. Unfortunately, he still missed even more chances, making it 13 big chances that he has missed in the league with five goals scored. There’s nothing to worry about with Werner though. He’s resilient, intelligent, pacey and knows how to get into good positions. All those attributes are key to being a successful striker in the Premier League.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): 7.5/10

Goa-livier Giroud played better than he has played in recent games. He won five out of 10 duels on the night. His movement was very good and he topped off a solid performance with a goal. Giroud has now scored four league goals for the Blues, two less than the man he replaced. For someone who’ll turn 35 this year, Giroud has been consistent on the goal scoring front, and it’s clear he still has a lot of goals in him. He has also been Chelsea’s most consistent goal scorer, considering the starts-to-goals ratio.

N’Golo Kante (Advanced midfielder): 6.5/10

N’Golo Kante came for Mount with 20 minutes to go in the contest. He didn’t do much, not that he was expected to. The Frenchman was brought on for defensive stability though and one could say it worked, seeing as the clean sheet was intact by the final whistle. He made eight passes and created one chance.
