Chelsea welcomes Manchester United to Stamford Bridge as the Blues look to continue their unbeaten run under Thomas Tuchel. The German’s squad is coming of its best victory of the season—a 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League—and needs to keep the momentum going in order to climb back into the top four. Three points against the Red Devils are enough to elevate the Blues back into a UCL position, so victory is of the utmost importance.

Here is how The Pride of London staff sees the match playing out:

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2-2 Draw

Manchester United’s preferred style of play is the perfect anti-thesis to the Blues’. They’ll sit deep and look to counter through Marcus Rashford and probably Daniel James. Tuchel’s team has faced a lot of tests already and he hasn’t passed all of them. They have passed enough of them to make fans confident of a result though. It’s difficult to see Man United not scoring more than one goal, so a draw is the most likely outcome.

More from Premier League

Michael DeVito: 1-0 Chelsea

Superlative defensive effort and a breakthrough by who else, Olivier Giroud, who should start.

Anthony Gatt: 1-0 Chelsea

Recent history may be on the side of Man United with the Red Devils seeking their fourth consecutive victory at Stamford Bridge. But with arrival of Tuchel as manager, the Blues have started a new slate and have looked defensively solid since then. Another low scoring affair, I predict, with Chelsea earning a penalty and Jorginho sending the Blues back into the top four.

Barrett Rouen: 2-1 Chelsea

I just think we’ll take this one, United has a bunch of injuries.

Scott Brant: 1-1 Draw

I don’t know anymore. I couldn’t pick a correct prediction to save my life. Coming off a big win versus Atletico, I expect the Blues to be a bit vulnerable. Defense will hold up for the most part. Bruno Fernandes to score, Harry Maguire to score an own goal.

Kevin Peacock: 2-0 Chelsea

The Blues’ recent Premier League record against United is not great, with a 1-0 win back in 2017 at the Bridge being the last. Likewise, results against the league’s top teams have been less than good. Tuchel’s arrival has seen an upturn in results and hopefully a change of fortune in the big games. Goals from Mason Mount and Marcos Alonso secure the three valuable points.

Mike Malley: 1-0 Chelsea

This game is extremely difficult to judge, mostly because of the number of injuries both sides are carrying. The Blues will be without Thiago Silva yet again and United is missing a number of first team players. These injuries will likely make the difference, although the game will definitely be close. Maybe Timo Werner will finally shut up the annoying United fans on Twitter by scoring the winner.

Gabe Henderson: 1-0 Chelsea

The Blues have had bad luck against United as of late. However, injuries to the visitors will prove the difference. Maguire’s run of luck finally comes to an end and Tuchel’s team captures three vital points.

Nate Hofmann: 1-1 Draw

This just feels like one of those big-name matches that ends up being a bit of a bore.  Chelsea has been excellent in defense since Tuchel took over, but this United side will be their biggest test yet. United’s defense isn’t half bad but not the well-oiled machine Chelsea just overcame in Bucharest. Seems like both teams have the ability to poke holes in the other, but enough resilience to keep each other at arm’s length. Overall, bit of a letdown, all things considered.

Varun Dani: 2-0 Chelsea

The Atletico win was monumental for the club, as it signified that Chelsea can still hang with the big guns of Europe. On Sunday, the Blues will take this new-found belief to Stamford Bridge and methodological beat United to prove that the midweek win wasn’t a one-off.

Abhishek Pancholi: 2-1 Chelsea

Werner finally delivers.

Matt Hancock-Bruce: 1-2 Manchester United

Neither side has lost this month but in a game that could prove crucial come the end of the season it’s hard to imagine both teams finishing February unbeaten. Despite earning a surprise victory against Atletico Madrid midweek Chelsea are the slight underdogs in this tie and the attacking flair of Fernandes and the form of Marcus Rashford might prove too much for a Silva-less Blues defence.
