Christian Pulisic (Right winger): 8/10

This one might surprise some people. Christian Pulisic was Chelsea’s best player on the night not named Kante or Jorginho. In the end, it was the non-stop kicks and shoves he received that prevented Pulisic from having a better game in the eyes of spectators. He took a beating for the badge and that’s something to be commended. The American looks to have kicked it into gear at the right time, just like last year. Hopefully Pulisic can play as important a role going forward as he did on Tuesday.

Kai Havertz (Center forward): 6.5/10

Kai Havertz didn’t have a poor game, he just didn’t have much to do. Aside from being battered and bruised by Pepe quite frequently, Havertz barely got any action on the night. He’ll be disappointed by his performance as it ultimately means he failed to capitalize on the momentum he gained against Crystal Palace. However, his situation deserves some context. He was never going to keep the momentum as Tuchel didn’t necessarily put him into a position to succeed. The Blues focused on keeping Porto out of the net as that proved to be enough to win the tie.

Mason Mount (Left winger): 6/10

A rare poor night at the office from Chelsea’s Player of the Season. Mount didn’t have much of an impact on this game at all. He can afford to have a night off as his goal kickstarted the run that ultimately saw Chelsea through to the semifinals, but it was disappointing to see him isolated up top as often as he was. Mount got into a few good positions, but his runs weren’t always found (looking at you, Kante) or he didn’t have his shooting boots. I’ll refrain from being too harsh to any of the front three given the fact they weren’t the focal point of Tuesday’s tactics.

Hakim Ziyech (Right winger): N/A

Hakim Ziyech replaced Mount in the 86′. At that point, his job was to provide fresh legs off the bench to help see the game out.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): N/A

Olivier Giroud replaced Havertz in the 92′ as Tuchel attempted to take time off the clock.
