Chelsea hosts Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinal second leg on Wednesday. Stamford Bridge will have the eyes of the world on it as the Blues and Los Blancos look to book the final ticket to Istanbul. The aggregate score stands at 1-1 after an intense first leg that saw Thomas Tuchel’s men grab a crucial away goal, but also miss multiple opportunities to leave Spain with a victory. Manchester City awaits the winner in the Champions League final; will it be the underdog Blues or the experienced Galacticos?

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the match playing out:

Barrett Rouen: 2-1 Chelsea

I think Eden Hazard is going to have a helluva game and I hate that. We’re just looking like we’re in good form, now Raphael Varane is injured for Real Madrid and then there’s recently returning Sergio Ramos. I’m hoping Tuchel does what he should and just plays Kurt Zouma as a man-marker on Karim Benzema, the way Liverpool did to Andrea Pirlo with Didi Hamman in Istanbul. We can then turn the game into 10 v. 10 by denying Benzema the ball all game and having the rest of our squad be better than theirs when they don’t have their No. 9 getting them all involved. He won’t do that though and I am willing to acknowledge that Tuchel is at least as good a tactics guy as I am, so I trust his judgment in the end, coupled with our form.

Mike Malley: 0-0 Draw (CHE advances w/away goal)

PARK. THE. FREAKING. BUS.

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2-1 Chelsea

The Blues have it in them to put more than two goals past Zidane’s Galacticos, so I’ll back them to score at  least two. It’s difficult to see Chelsea keeping a clean sheet, not because of itself, but because of Real Madrid. Los Blancos have the experience needed to get through this tie, only a few members of the English squad have it. The Blues are relying on players like Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva to pull them through such a high-stakes game.

Tan Yi Hao: 1-0 Chelsea

It’d be so painful to lose this one at the stage that the Blues are currently in. As much as Tuchel tactically outsmarted his counterpart in the away leg of the tie, anything can happen in the semifinals of the UCL.

Scott Brant: 0-0 Draw

Lock all windows and doors, shut up shop. Let’s play defense and hold onto the ball. Please. Please. Please. My life as I know it depends upon it.

Michael DeVito: 0-0 Draw

Lockdown defense is sufficient. Play the defenders and KO Madrid. Trust me, parking the bus is the strategy.

Olly Smith: 2-1 Chelsea

Madrid needs to score and it will be caught out on the counter—not once, but twice—by the Blues’ young stars Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount. An early lead (courtesy of Mount) means Chelsea will batten down the hatches. There is only one person that will score for Madrid and it will be Hazard. It has to be, it’s written in the stars, but it will be his former club that has the last laugh. In all of the Blues’ UCL semifinals, they have sat back and countered; Tuchel will take that approach. Benzema will rattle a post and crack a crossbar, but Chelsea will ride on to victory and an all-English final after Pulisic runs the length of the field and rounds the snake in goal.

Abhishek Pancholi: 2-0 Chelsea

Approaching a game of this magnitude with the sole aim of keeping it to 0-0 is almost guaranteed to backfire. Instead, Chelsea will catch the visitors off-guard by going for the jugular from the kickoff.

Kevin Peacock: 1-0 Chelsea

That single away goal turns out to be crucial as the Blues hold out for a clean sheet. Timo Torres pops up with the winner midway through the second half. Chelsea joins its female counterparts in making Champions League history by getting the men’s and women’s teams into the final during the same campaign.

Anthony Gatt: 0-0 Draw

I’m predicting a boring 0-0 because it gets the job done and that’s what’s needed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this game headed to extra time due to how evenly matched both teams are.

Varun Dani: 1-0 Chelsea

Tuchel’s Blues will frustrate Madrid with pragmatic supremacy and wait for openings, like a lion on a prowl. One break, one chance, one goal and the Champions League final awaits.

Jake Brigstock: 1-0 Chelsea

I think this will be nervy; both teams will not want to let this slip, and I think this game will be more like the second half we saw in Madrid than the first. Expect caginess all throughout the game; I do think we’ll score, but maybe later on when Real starts to throw more bodies forward. All English final? Let’s have it. Come on the Chels.

Gabe Henderson: 1-0 Chelsea

Tuchel’s men score a goal early in the second half, but never take their foot off the gas. The constant pressure and stubbornness at the back keeps a clean sheet to send the Blues to the Champions League final.
