Chelsea welcomes one of its bitter London rivals, Arsenal, to Stamford Bridge in the second meeting between the two this season. The struggling Gunners shocked Frank Lampard’s Blues on Boxing Day, running them off the pitch at The Emirates, 3-1. As we know, Lampard is no longer on the touchline, so Mikel Arteta will have to deal with the adept mind of Thomas Tuchel. The German has his side firing on all cylinders and now needs a positive result following Leicester City’s win at Old Trafford. A win would see the Blues go third and bring them within three points of the Premier League’s runner-up spot. Can they do it? Six points from the final three games will see Tuchel’s team play Champions League football next season, a win over Arsenal would be a step in the right direction.

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the match playing out:

Barrett Rouen: 2-0 Chelsea

I think Arsenal will show up because it’s the most important London Derby when we play them. Hopefully there’s some David Luiz-silliness, but I don’t know anything about Arsenal at this point anymore because sadly for football, it’s not even a relevant side.

More from Premier League

Tan Yi Hao: 3-0 Chelsea

Chelsea and Arsenal are two clubs heading in two separate directions for some years now. Despite the occasional result the Gunners have been able to muster against the Blues, Chelsea ultimately have always had the upper hand when it matters most. At a stage of the season when Arsenal’s mid-table mediocracy means it has nothing left to play for, Chelsea will most certainly be there to have its revenge following its 3-1 lost in the reverse fixture.

Michael DeVito: 2-0 Chelsea

The Blue freight train rolls on. The defense is solid. Antonio Rudiger plays, Kurt Zouma will slot in for the injured Andreas Christensen with Thiago Silva rested and Cesar Azpilicueta dropping back. Reece James and Emerson or Marcos Alonso maybe the wingbacks. Christian Pulisic rested for the Cup. Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi up front? Werner scores and continues his resurgence.

Mike Malley: 2-1 Chelsea

Just two more wins will secure a spot in next year’s Champions League for the Blues, so of course this will not be as easy as it should be. Chelsea is one of the most in-form teams in Europe and is definitely the better coached side between the London rivals. Tuchel should be able to run tactical circles around Arteta, and London will stay blue come Wednesday evening.

Gabe Henderson: 3-1 Chelsea

Tuchel’s side has given me no reason to believe this game will be lost. The Blues flip the script and beat the Gunners by the same depressing scoreline that they beat their guests by on Boxing Day.

Scott Brant: 1-0 Chelsea

I am 100 percent sure that since I took a draw at Real Madrid and we won, a loss at Manchester City and we won, that when I predict a win, our Blues will most likely draw. But this win would do all but secure top four, anything short of meltdown after of course. I would really like to see Tammy Abraham—and yes, my Tammy drum is worn out—but still I bang that sucker until Tuchel hopefully hears it. A goal from a defender on a set piece sounds about right.

Abhishek Pancholi: 4-0 Chelsea

The Blues have been carving out chances at will in recent weeks, even though their profligacy in front of goal has been hugely annoying. All of that will change as Arsenal and its suicidal defending lay out the red carpet to its goal for Chelsea’s attackers.

Kevin Peacock: 3-0 Chelsea

Arsenal hahahaha. No problem for Havertz, Mount and Marcos Alonso. Job done.

Nate Hofmann: 2-2 Draw

To me, this just screams “troll job by a bad team with nothing to play for.”  Something in the ballpark of the loss to West Ham at the end of last season.  With a cup final just a few days away, you have to wonder how much rotation we’ll see, especially after a fair bit of rotation against Manchester City on Saturday. Don’t get me wrong, Arsenal is not a good team, and Chelsea should make easy work of it, at least on paper. But this is just one of those games and one of those teams that feels like a ready and willing bump in Chelsea’s road to a top four finish.

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2-0 Chelsea

Enough has been seen under Tuchel to expect a very comfortable win against Arsenal. The Blues had a shocker in the reverse fixture, they simply have to set the record straight.

Varun Dani: 2-0 Chelsea

Usually this would’ve been a classic Robin Hood game for Chelsea, to hand a struggling Arsenal some rejuvenating points. But such has been the impact of the ruthless mentality instilled in this squad by Tuchel, that they will leave no doubt as to who is the kings of London are come Wednesday.

Anthony Gatt: 3-0 Chelsea

I am both predicting this result because I want to add to Arsenal’s misery, but equally because I believe it’s in the realm of possibility that it could happen. Now that I am saying this, Arsenal will turn into 202 Barcelona and beat us like they often do. Regardless, I have confidence in the team to win the game and get revenge from earlier in the season.
