Chelsea should be beating Arsenal at this point in the season based on their current forms. The Blues beat themselves as much as anything, but the loss undoes the gains of the Manchester City victory as far as the league is concerned. Top four is still in the Blues’ control, but that control has been greatly narrowed by school boy mistakes. How are the players rated for this one?

Kepa Arrizabalaga 7/10, Keeper

Kepa Arrizabalaga was tidy with his distribution and made a couple of decent saves. He didn’t do much as Arsenal’s forwards failed to trouble him. There was nothing he could have done for the goal, and he did save the initial back pass from Jorginho with a heroic right hand.

Cesar Azpilicueta 6.5/10, Right Centerback

Cesar Azpilicueta did not have a good game, to be honest. He was having trouble coping up with runs down the right and did not have the impact needed to overturn the match. It was an average game for Chelsea’s captain, and he should look to return to his best in the upcoming games.

Thiago Silva 7/10, Centerback

Thiago Silva was solid in defense as he ensured that Arsenal’s half-hearted attacks didn’t convert into anything vicious. Silva was on the end of several clearances, and he dominated with his aerial presence as well. Overall, it was a decent game from the Brazilian and let’s hope that his midfielders and attackers don’t let him down in the upcoming games.

Kurt Zouma 6.5/10, Left Centerback

Kurt Zouma has faced a few nervy moments in his box over the past couple of games. He was involved in that challenge with Raheem Sterling as he made unnecessary contact with him in the box. Against Arsenal, Zouma looked shaky in a couple of one-on-ones in the box. Other than that, Zouma had a good game in the defensive phase. He could have scored as he got two clear chances to head the ball into the back of the net.
