After a month-long hiatus, the world’s best fantasy football game is finally back. With over two months still to go before the season begins, there is going to be more than enough time for you to play around with different squad configurations. So, strap in and get ready for a season that is most likely going to consist of more downs than ups as you fight to finish top of the pile amongst your friends only for all of you to end up between the one millionth and two-millionths ranked players in the world. On a more serious note, however, below are some Chelsea player you could take into consideration when building your very own FPL teams.

Ben Chilwell, defender, £6.0m

At £6.0m, Ben Chilwell should be the go-to Chelsea player in defense. As Chelsea’s highest-scoring FPL defender last season with 139 points, Chilwell only started 27 games for the club last term, a figure expected to rise once Marcos Alonso or Emerson leave the club. Despite his low amount of starts, however, Chilwell finds himself just 23 points behind the highest-scoring defender in the game, Trent Alexander Arnold.

The Liverpool man costs £7.5m however, and while that could represent good value given the fact that he is a proven commodity in FPL, Chilwell’s 3 goals and 5 assists are not to be sniffed at either. Moreover, Chelsea’s superb defensive record looks set to resume under Tuchel’s continued management.

This defensive solidarity should make Chilwell a much safer option than the likes of Aaron Cresswell(£5.5m) or Matt Targett(£5.0m), with the Englishman destined to rake in more points from clean sheets than players from West Ham or Aston Villa. It has to be said that Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka does offer great value as well at £5.5m although, between him and UCL-winner Ben Chilwell, I certainly know who I am going for – the both of them.
