Denmark versus Czech Republic: Andreas Christensen

Denmark doesn’t look like a team that can be stopped. The Czech Republic has frequently caused issues for opponents all tournament but Denmark almost totally smothered them. One goal aside, Denmark had complete control of match.

What truly stands out about the Danes is how forward and fluid they are. They almost always seem to have a man free for a forward pass. When they don’t, they somehow can always dribble their way to an opening. They frequently flow between a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, and 3-4-3 depending on the game state. They may seem like the minnows of the teams remaining, but it is very hard to discount the fire in their bellies to go all the way.

Andreas Christensen has been a vital part of this at the back. The defense didn’t have a great deal to do against the Czechs, but Christensen was ever present when defense was needed. He continues his excellent form for Chelsea while showing he can perform the half back role that Thomas Tuchel preferred at Paris Saint-Germain. He’ll have his work cut out for him when it’s Harry Kane opposite, but it’s simply too hard to discount this side and their desire to do it for Christian Eriksen.
