Eduardo Camavinga, 18 years old, Rennes

This one seems like the most realistic of the three but the most exciting of three as well. Eduardo Camavinga has caught the interest of every major club in Europe with him seemingly on his way to Real Madrid in 2019 but that did not happen and we find ourselves in 2021 with one best young midfielders only having one more year on his contract. He is valued at 60 million according to Transfermarkt but could be available for as little as 25 million euros. Manchester United has been heavily linked with him this summer but Chelsea might have the upper hand because of their good relationship with Rennes.

It’s no secret that Petr Cech has a huge affinity for Rennes having played for them for two years before joining Chelsea and that affinity has trickled down between the two clubs with our technical director now scouting their players. Just last summer Cech pointed out Edouard Mendy to be Chelsea’s new number one goalkeeper and that acquisition couldn’t have gone any better. Camavinga could be next on the list and what a signing it could be for Chelsea with his quality and age the sky is the limit for what he could achieve in a blue shirt. I am saying this but in all likelihood I see him leaving for free next summer and joining Real Madrid but Chelsea has the advantage this summer and must pounce before it’s too late.

These are just some of the top talents that grace the Ligue 1 and with the recent TV deal troubles that the league is experiencing now is the time to try and pouch them to Premier League and more importantly Chelsea because they could be generational talents that could drive our club to more success right now and into the future.
