Football is back and so is everything good that comes with it. The Premier League kicks off in a couple of days, which means Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is soon to be the hot topic on everyone’s lips. FPL is a popular global game played by millions of people right across the world. At the end of the piece will be the league code for The Pride of London‘s Fantasy League. Before we get into that though, here are some Chelsea players for you to consider when creating your fantasy team:

Edouard Mendy (GK, £6.0 million)

At an expensive £6.0 million, is there a more premium goalkeeper than the one who plays with the best defense? Edouard Mendy racked up a total of 140 points last season in total without playing at the start. A vast majority of those points came in the second half of the season when Thomas Tuchel arrived at Chelsea. The Blues were defensively very solid in comparison to when Lampard was in charge the first half of the season.

The Senegalese international kept 16 clean sheets in 31 league appearances for Chelsea in his debut domestic season. He was second in the race for the golden glove, only behind Manchester City‘s shot-stopper. Ederson (£6.0 million) kept the most Premier League clean sheets (18) and is the same price as Mendy, as is Liverpool goalkeeper Allison. Tuchel will look to keep as many clean sheets and with Mendy the only guaranteed starter, he is a shrewd pick and a good set-and-forget FPL player.

Antonio Rudiger (DEF, £5.5 million)

Coming in at £5.5 million, Antonio Rudiger made a total of 11 clean sheets in just 19 Premier League appearances. He scored one league goal in that time and scored a total of 93 points across the season. The one concern about the Chelsea defence is that no one is a guaranteed starter heading into the upcoming campaign. With that in mind, the opening couple of fixtures are not the greatest if you’re a Chelsea fan, however, the Blues can keep clean sheets against literally any opponent in the world. The German looked good at the Euros and in the preseason games and is a certain starter for the Blues in big games this season.

There are many other great options at the £5.5 million bracket like Luke Shaw (DEF) at Manchester United—who is already owned by more than 52 percent in the Fantasy game. Lucas Digne (DEF) is also an appealing asset to have considering Everton’s favorable opening fixtures.

Jorginho (MID, £6.0 million)

The double European champion (European Championship and Champions League winner) seems like an undroppable player at the moment. With penalties in his locker, Jorginho scored a total of 114 points across last season in FPL. The Italian scored seven goals, all from the spot, and had one assist in the 2020/21 season for Chelsea. Jorginho could very well go under the radar as a very good pick should the Blues get many penalty decisions in their favour. There are few better in the world at the moment to dispatch a penalty than Jorginho.

If you want a more explosive pick at £6.0 million, you could pick Jack Harrison (MID) from Leeds United or if you have £0.5 million extra, you could go up to Raphinha (MID, Leeds). Both are really good value for money.
