The homegrown Blues boy is now off to Italy to work underneath his former manager, Jose Mourinho, and we wish him nothing but the very best. We must recall the number of young superstars who slipped away from the West London side in order to build a more spectacular career, and even Lukaku was one of those youngsters. Apart from that, the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Mohammed Salah, and even Thorgan Hazard, were all part of the Blues family once. These players were not appreciated enough, and they went on to have stellar careers with rival teams.
Tammy Abraham is ready to reboot his career with AS Roma
While Tammy is certainly not at par with the aforementioned players, we can’t help but think he has been treated a bit harshly by Thomas Tuchel. Yes, while the number nine was not the flashiest player, and yes, he was not the most consistent either, the fact is that he scored the most amount of goals for the club in the past two seasons.
The German manager has shown clear bias towards Timo Werner, although the former RB Leipzig striker fails to perform in front of the goal. The reason why Werner still gets selected, however, is due to the fact that he fits in with the high-paced pressing style that Tuchel desires. Abraham on the other hand is more of a stagnant number nine whose only job is to put the ball at the back of the net.
All that does not matter, however, as the player has already been signed by Roma, although the Blues do have a sign-back clause in the contract. We will see how the player turns out in two years, and then Chelsea could sign him back. However, as for now, we will be looking at the five talking points from this big transfer.
