3. Six players on the transfer list to raise funds

As the Premier League campaign has now beugn for Chelsea and only a few weeks of the transfer window are left, the Blues’ German gaffer has decided to transfer list six players to raise funds for future transfers. These players include the likes of Timoue Bakayoko, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater, Davide Zappacosta, Dujon Sterling and Abdul Baba Rahman.

Having impressed the German coach in preseason, it seems bizarre to have Sterling on the transfer list, but it is assured by the club that he will be given a new contract and sent out on loan, with a whole host of clubs interested in securing his signature.

Bakayoko—since the start of the window—has been linked with Napoli and AC Milan, but those links have now since been dead until now. A few days ago, it was reported that the likes of Rennes and Lyon have started conversations with the Blues in order to sign the French midfielder. These reports go to the extent of saying that a deal for Bakayoko will be completed in a few days—regardless of his next destination. If they are to be believed, we can expect the midfielder to finally leave the club this week for good.

Seeing the likes of Barkley and Drinkwater on the transfer list is no surprise, but moving them will be a very difficult task as no interest has been registered for them until now. Moving on from the likes of Zappacosta and Rahman might not be as difficult due to their demand in the current transfer market. Zappacosta will be either sold to Fiorentina or Atalanta in the coming weeks; whereas the club has already rejected loan deals for Rahman as it looks to send him away on a permanent move to get him off its books.
