For the second time at the start of this Premier League season, it’s Derby Day. Chelsea looks to make it two out of two in the league as it travels to the Emirates Stadium for one of the most important matches on the calendar. The Blues blew Crystal Palace out of the water last weekend, 3-0. They will look to continue with this momentum against a struggling Arsenal side. Thomas Tuchel’s ranks will be strengthened by the potential returns of N’Golo Kante and Hakim Ziyech; however, the talking point is the team’s new No. 9. Romelu Lukaku is back to make his second debut with his favorite club, he’s undoubtedly going to play a part on Sunday. Meanwhile, numerous players will miss out due to COVID-19. It’ll be a big occasion nonetheless as good meets evil, red meets blue and Chelsea takes on Arsenal.

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:

More from Premier League

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 0-1 Chelsea

Many Arsenal fans will be hoping that this plays out the way they’d like: Out of form Arsenal meets in-form Chelsea, Arsenal win. The Blues players will be all too aware of the double Arsenal did over them last season. They played a lot of better in the second match they played against Arsenal than they did in the first. It’s still a London Derby, so it would be an easy game regardless of form. Ziyech to score.

Kevin Peacock: 0-2 Chelsea

Be afraid Arsenal, be very afraid. Lukaku will hopefully be spearheading Chelsea’s attack at some point during this game. We’ve let Arsenal off the hook too many times in recent games, we’ve allowed them to dominate us. This must stop. Lukaku must stop it. London is Blue. Lukaku re-opens his account with both goals.

Vansh Ambashta: 0-3 Chelsea

Lukaku is back in blue and he will start this phase of his career with a banger against Arsenal. “It is going to be scary, but not for us.”

Leighton September: 0-4 Chelsea

No Arsenal player gets into Tuchel’s team. After the Gunners’ disastrous performance against Brentford, if Arsenal plays anything like it did that night, on Sunday, it’ll properly be Mikel Arteta’s final game at Arsenal. The Blues are on cloud nine and with Lukaku up front, he’ll bully the Gunners’ defence. I can see Lukaku score a couple goals with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, as well.

Tan Yi Hao: 0-3 Chelsea

Arsenal are 4/1 to beat the Blues at home. That is about as clear as any indicator as to just how horrible this Arsenal side truly is. Nonetheless, this is still a derby, and the Gunners do have players in their team more than capable of giving Chelsea a run for its money. Should the Blues open the scoring early, however, the scoreline could turn real ugly, real quick.

Abhishek Pancholi: 0-4 Chelsea

This is one of the worst Arsenal sides in recent memory, which means it will fight tooth and nail to make sure the fig leaf preserving its dignity stays in place. The Gunners’ fans still prance around the Interwebs calling themselves the biggest club in London while keeping a straight face and without a shred of self-awareness. It’s time the Champions of Europe put them in their place. It has been long overdue.

Olly Smith: 2-3 Chelsea

Even with the return of the Rom, don’t trick yourself into thinking this is an easy matchup for the Blues. No matter its form coming into the match, Arsenal always raises its game for every Chelsea fixture. The Blues will need all of their expertise to navigate this one. A late winner from Mount will give Chels the full three points.

Mike Malley: 0-2 Chelsea

Arsenal has been a tricky opponent for the Blues in recent outings, so this victory will surely be more difficult than it needs to be. Lukaku’s re-introduction to the Premier League is the main storyline heading into the match, and the Belgian has already articulated his hunger for success at Stamford Bridge. Expect a close contest for most of the 90 minutes, but in the end, the visitors will come out on top.

Hugo Amaya: 0-2 Chelsea

A good win for the Blues to build on confidence and fitness. Tuchel is not the man to understimate opponents and will set string tactics against Arsenal. The Blues will dominate the majority of the game but will struggle to put chances away. On the other hand, Arsenal will have some decent moments to put Chelsea on the back foot. However, the Blues’ quality, and Arsenal’s lack thereof, will be the determining factor. Goals from Timo Werner and Mount—an assist from Lukaku.

Anthony Gatt: 1-2 Chelsea

Everything is in Chelsea’s favour to win this game at the Emirates on Sunday. But while saying a similar thing last season when playing Arsenal, the Blues lost twice to a below average side who shouldn’t have came close to winning, let alone scoring four. Regardless of that, this is a new Chelsea side brimming with confidence and a new No. 9 who will strike fear into the Gunners. The Blues win 2-1 with Lukaku scoring twice.

Akshat Mehrish: 0-2 Chelsea

The Blues will be out to avenge their defeat last May against the Gunners, a match in which they conceded a dubious goal, had several penalty calls waived off and hit the framework multiple times. Lukaku’s availability will be a boost for Tuchel, while his opposite number—Arteta—could be left to rue the absence of certain key personnel. Chelsea has lost to Arsenal in similar circumstances during the last few years, although, I believe on Sunday it’ll get the job done.

Gabe Henderson: 0-2 Chelsea

It’d be disingenuous of me to predict anything other than what I said in the match preview. Lukaku’s return and the fact the Blues are on a roll, playing at near full strength, will see them control this match throughout. Arsenal will only come close to the visitors’ 18-yard-box on a handful of occasions as Tuchel’s men squeeze the Gunners for 90 minutes. Death by squeezing and Lukaku—two to nil to the good guys.

Subhrajit Chowdhury: 0-1 Chelsea

While the Gunners may not be the all mighty invincibles that they once used to be, they are still one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals. This London Derby is famous worldwide, and at the moment, the Blues are the clear favourites. While they were busy swatting away local rivals Crystal Palace in the opening game, Arsenal struggled against newcomer, Brentford during the opening week. The former invincibles are looking quite shaky, however, they do have a good record against their west London foes. Arsenal has beaten the Blues four times in the last five encounters, and Tuchel is yet to get the best of Arteta. However, after the opening week and Chelsea’s European success, the Gunners may have a hard time at home on Sunday.
