Prediction

Get your popcorn ready. The Blues and Reds now boast two of the most lethal attacks in the league. Their defenses aren’t too shabby either. Both teams have scored five and conceded none over the first two games of the season. Unless the attacking styles of the English giants result in an unlikely stalemate, something will change for at least one side.

I expect Tuchel’s team to control possession. Klopp’s men are comfortable playing on the counter when needs be through Salah, Mane and either Roberto Firmino or Diogo Jota. Lukaku will cause problems for the Reds with his back to goal, but the Blues will struggle to put away their chances as the team is still getting used to playing with one another. Liverpool won’t get many looks as the reintroduction on Chilwell solidifies an already strong Blues defense.

Despite this, the Reds get a goal shortly after the interval to deny Chelsea a third consecutive clean sheet. In the end though, it’ll be the Blues who come away with three points thanks to goals from the German duo of Werner and Antonio Rudiger. Liverpool slips down the table a tad, Chelsea retains its place in second after West Ham dominates Crystal Palace earlier in the day. It’ll be nine points from the opening three and two wins against the big six for the Blues early on.

Score prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea
