3. Harry Kane versus Romelu Lukaku

If you see a list of the top strikers in the world at the moment, the chances are that you will find two names at the top. Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane. The difference between the two is that one got his dream move this summer while the other got prisoned in London. Lukaku and Kane have had contrasting starts to their season.

Perhaps, the context of the season has had effects on their mentality and confidence; only time will tell. Lukaku has already scored three goals in the Premier League and averages 4.0 (1.7 on target, 12 total) shots per game. In contrast, Kane hasn’t scored a single goal and averages 0.7 (0.7 on target, 2 total) shots per game. Similarly, Lukaku averages 5.3 total duels won for Kane’s 3.3. However, statistics aside, Kane’s threat cannot be denied for Sunday’s game.

Spurs haven’t scored a lot of goals in the Premier League till now, with three one-goal victories. Son ended up scoring two of those with the third coming off a penalty from Dele Alli. On the other hand, Chelsea has scored nine goals in the Premier League, with Lukaku scoring three of them.

All things considered, Chelsea will probably dominate the possession and look to improve their cohesiveness in the attack. With Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech uninspiring against Zenit, we could see Kai Havertz return into the starting lineup. This could enhance the service to Lukaku, who would be full of self-confidence at the moment. Spurs have struggled to convert their chances as well, as they took 38 shots and only three of those resulted in goals. Kane’s slow start has been one of the factors behind this inefficiency, and he will look to get back to form. All in all, this should be an excellent game to watch, and we look forward to what Tuchel has in store for us against Spurs!
