Tottenham vs Chelsea preview: How to watch on TV and live stream
Chelsea team news
Chelsea has been handed a major boost by the availability of N’Golo Kante for this weekend’s short trip to Tottenham. On Monday, ahead of the Zenit match, Tuchel had this to say in his pre-match press conference:
"“N’Golo had two training sessions yesterday (Sunday) and today (Monday), but the Champions League game comes a bit too early. We won’t take the risk now at this moment of the season. So we decided to give him another load tomorrow in training then he will have a day off with all of us, then he will rejoin team training on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, to be absolutely fit and ready for Tottenham.” -Tuchel"
The return of Kante to the midfield could see Jorginho or Mateo Kovacic be dropped, but who? The pair seems undroppable at the moment. Reece James, who played in midweek, is also available for the Blues after his one-match suspension. Many delighted Chelsea fans saw the return of England international Ben Chilwell, who came on in the second half in the Champions League against Zenit for Marcos Alonso. That was his first competitive minutes played since the Champions League final back in May. Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta, Hakim Ziyech and Alonso all came off during the second half, so expect the team to be similar as against Zenit with Kante pushing for a start, as well. Although the Frenchman could be fit to feature, American winger Christian Pulisic will be sidelined for the contest.
Tottenham team news
Tottenham fell to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in matchweek four in the Premier League. Nuno will no doubt be eager to deploy a full strength team when his side hosts Chelsea. The north London club is set to be without Japhet Tanganga, who was sent off against Crystal Palace. Both Heung-min Son and Eric Dier also looked to be doubts, but could still recover in time to play. Son picked up a calf injury while on international duty with South Korea and Dier limped out of the Palace game after just 11 minutes. Winger Steven Bergwijn went off early in their UEFA Conference League match against Rennes; he is now a doubt for this weekend too.
