Right winger: Mason Mount, Chelsea

This might be a controversial selection in the eyes of some, it’s easily justifiable. Mason Mount is hugely important to the way Chelsea plays both in possession and out of it. His experience at the age of just 22 is impressive, especially considering he’s already captained the Blues on numerous occasions.

Mount’s energy is unmatched in any team he plays in. The young midfielder is capable of playing all over the pitch: on the left, right, in a deep-playmaking role or even as a winger. Mount’s one of the most technically gifted players on both sides. He’s earned praise from managers like Frank Lampard, Gareth Southgate, Tuchel and countless opposing gaffers for his quality. Therefore, the reigning Chelsea Player of the Year has done more than enough to earn his spot here.

Striker: Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea

Man City has one of the easiest selections in defense through Dias, the same goes for Chelsea in attack with Lukaku. The £97.5 million man has been on fire to begin the season and the best is yet to come. The Belgian forward is one of the—if not the—best No. 9s in world football. The Citizens simply don’t have anybody to compete with Lukaku, even though Gabriel Jesus’ impressive performances early on must be mentioned. Lukaku is the premier goalscoring threat.

Left winger: Jack Grealish, Manchester City

A lot has been made of Grealish’s £100 million transfer to Man City from Aston Villa. Regardless of what one makes of the price tag, Grealish is one of the most creative players in the Premier League. Plain and simple. He now has the platform needed to blossom into one of England’s most threatening players in recent memory. Grealish’s nomination—like Mount’s—may ruffle some readers’ feathers, it’s justified though. The Birmingham native is infuriating to watch only because he isn’t on your team. He’s Eden Hazard-esque. Grealish’s creativity combined with Lukaku’s lethal finishing is the stuff dreams are made of. He earns the final spot in the front three for this reason.
