Kai Havertz (No. 29) Right winger, Germany

Mason Mount is out with a minor injury, so Kai Havertz will likely operate on the right. He will sometimes move more central behind the two potential strikers, if Tuchel operates in a 3-5-2 formation. We all know what happened last time Havertz played against Man City. The rest is history. Everyone believed he would set the world on fire after that moment, but that has yet to happen. He has started the season out rather poorly, he must be better in the attacking third. He needs to be better with his decision making to reach that next level. It will be tough against City, but all it takes is one moment of brilliance, which is something the German is capable of.

Romelu Lukaku (No. 9) Striker, Belgium

It’s no secret that Man City needs a striker and was after one all summer. The Blues did get one and they got one that will cause the Citizens all sorts of trouble. If Romelu Lukaku scores on Saturday, it would be poetic and show City what it is missing. His presence may be the main reason why Chelsea could be taking City’s Premier League trophy come the end of the season.

Lukaku hasn’t scored against City since 2017 when he was playing for Everton, as he scored no goals for Man United. There will be great motivation for the Belgian to get on the scoresheet. He might not get many chances to score, but all Lukaku needs is one great opportunity to but the ball in back of net. If that happens, Chelsea will be leaving the pitch with three points.

Timo Werner (No. 11) Left winger, Germany

Hopefully Timo Werner scoring midweek gives him some confidence to add to that tally. Unfortunately, we all said that several times last season and the end result wasn’t pretty. Nevertheless, his goal was a nicely-placed header and all the pressure is not on him anymore, which will presumably lift his spirits. His traits will make him a nice complement to Lukaku up front, like Lautaro Martinez was last season at Inter Milan.
