Chelsea plays host as the Blues square off against Manchester City for the first time since the Champions League final. They currently sit atop the Premier League table, whereas the Citizens are in fifth after a relatively rocky start to the season. Thomas Tuchel will look to improve his record to nine unbeaten competitive games to begin the season, whereas Pep Guardiola is looking to start a run for his side. It’s a battle between two juggernauts at Stamford Bridge on a Saturday.

Here’s how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 1-0 Chelsea

Can Chelsea make it four out of four? Why not? The Blues have had a bit of a struggle against three-man midfields lately,  but I trust Tuchel to have spotted that and put changes in place to correct that. His side is currently three points clear of Man City, this is a chance to make a statement.

Varun Dani: 2-0 Chelsea

There’s just something about Guardiola’s Citizens that really seems to get the best out of Tuchel’s men. The Blues in the last three clashes against City have looked a different side with an air of superiority about them. Tuchel seems to have Guardiola’s number in England, and with City facing some major injuries, that record is bound to be extended on Saturday. Chelsea may have not hit top gear yet, but this could finally be the game that unlocks the team’s real potential.

Hugo Amaya: 1-0 Chelsea

A high intensity game and not many clear chances for either team. The Blues will be looking to establish superiority over their rivals. Meanwhile, City will look for revenge. But just as in the UCL final, Chelsea will come out on top. A goal by Lukaku in the second half will be enough to get the Blues the three points.

Vansh Ambashta: 1-0 Chelsea

This should be a good game to watch with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances. Lukaku to score a world class solo goal as the Blues continue their impressive run.

Tan Yi Hao: 2-0 Chelsea

The Blues have generated great momentum since the start of the season having yet to have lost a game thus far. The team, although not 100 percent settled, is still incredible defensively and that solid foundation should provide a great platform for Chelsea’s attackers to build on. The Blues to win and establish a six-point gap over title rival Man City early on in the season.

Nate Hofmann: 1-2 Manchester City

It’s now a few weeks since Chelsea put together a great 90 minutes. It’s been a solid half each match that gets the Blues over the line, but that isn’t going to be enough against City. Guardiola’s side only needs the slimmest of openings to tear a match wide open, and Chelsea has looked increasingly likely to grant it that chance. I think it will be a more coherent performance over the course of the match than we’ve been seeing, but it will be just lax enough for City to edge it.

Olly Smith: 1-1 Draw

Despite ‘Kloppites’ not wanting to hear this, in terms of the main title challengers, City is a much tougher task than Liverpool. They Citizens have had bumps but Guardiola will loathe to lose to Tuchel again. Kai Havertz will continue to be a thorn and score, Lukaku will have a penalty shout waved off and Riyad Mahrez will steal away the win with a late equalizer.

Leighton September: 2-0 Chelsea

Despite the absence of Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic, the Blues still have very quality players to fill the void. Havertz and Lukaku still have enough to finish those changes. Further, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will control the midfield battle. City really lacks a striker, that is clear. It will struggle in the final third against Chelsea and I see Tuchel and Co. winning four in a row against Man City.

Barrett Rouen: 2-0 Chelsea

We’re better than they are.

Subhrajit Chowdhury: 0-0 Draw

This match is too close to call. I believe Man City will push throughout the game but the Blues’ defense will survive. The home side will probably play this one on the back-foot.

Abhishek Pancholi: 2-1 Chelsea

A tale of two halves, with Man City going into the break a goal up on Chelsea, and the Blues turning the tables when the game restarts.

Anthony Gatt: 1-0 Chelsea

Hardest prediction of season so far for a match that can literally go any way. I believe the Blues have enough at home to beat City 1-0 and leave with three valuable points. Lukaku to score and a statement will be made.

Gabe Henderson: 2-1 Chelsea

This is a coin toss, but the Blues are the better defensive team. This is especially true with Edouard Mendy coming back in between the sticks.

Kevin Peacock: 2-0 Chelsea

You have to think that Guardiola will beat Tuchel at some point with the German having the upper hand in recent meetings. However, Chelsea does look like a strong side. We know Man City can be good, but so far this season, it lacks consistency, the Blues don’t. Tuchel has made his team very difficult to beat. In fact, very difficult to score against and that will be the difference. Lukaku with the first goal, Jorginho with the second via the penalty spot.

Mike Malley: 1-0 Chelsea

This game will be a huge determinant of the favorite for this year’s Premier League title. Of course, Liverpool and Manchester United are in the mix, as well. But the English champion facing off against the European champion is surely one of the most anticipated matches of the season so far. Both sqauds are obviously immensely talented, but it just feels like Chelsea can’t lose right now. Lukaku with the decisive goal.
