Mason Mount (No. 19) Right winger, England

Mason Mount has created the most clear cut chances (5) for the Blues and that is credit to him. He was off the pace early in the season but he has made a dramatic return to form following his hat-trick against Norwich City at the weekend. He didn’t play well after coming on for Hakim Ziyech against Southampton, though Southampton made it very difficult and even the players that started needed some time to get going.

Kai Havertz (No. 29) Center forward, Germany

Kai Havertz played well against Southampton in the Carabao Cup game and topped it off with a crucial goal that ensured the Blues got the game to penalties. He needed that goal, as well, as he didn’t have a good game against Norwich. It really was a bad look seeing Chelsea put seven goals past a poor Norwich side and he wasn’t involved once, as a starter. Players aren’t defined by individual performances though and Havertz is well on his way to making fans forget about his Norwich performance.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (No. 20) Left winger, England

Callum Hudson-Odoi was returned to his dreaded wingback position against Southampton and that is perhaps the best indicator that Tuchel would do anything rather than play a back four with his current set of players. Tuchel has talked about recognizing that the youngster plays his best on the left side of a front three. This bodes well for the Englishman, as he can get more chances to make his mark in his most comfortable position. Tuchel stopped Hudson-Odoi from going on loan and now there’s an opportunity for him to make a case to keep playing, even when Lukaku and Werner return from injuries. This would be difficult to do, but he’s up to the task.
