Chelsea Vs Burnley was going to be a closer game than anticipated because of the extremely frustrating style that is used by Sean Dyche. However, once the Blues took the lead, no one really expected the opposition to get back into the game. Not only did Chelsea look like the more threatening side, but it also had the majority of possession and attacking intent. The Clarets had no intention of winning the game however, they were always hoping for that one goal that might have gotten them the single point.

After missing a lot of chances, the Blues were still looking like the more comfortable side and given that they were yet to concede from open play this season in the Premier League, no one was very worried for the team. However, the unbelievable happened and one chance created by Jay Rodriguez was enough to beat the super keeper, Edouard Mendy. After that, the London side picked up the tempo and brought in more attacking players however, it was just not enough and Burnley was more than happy with the one point. They defended for their lives and the Blues could just not break down the resilient defense.

So, what does this mean for the Blues? Well, thankfully Thomas Tuchel’s men performed extraordinarily last month and had an absolutely perfect month winning all their matches. That meant that they were three points above the second-placed, Liverpool, when the month ended. Now, however, that gap could reduce down to one point should the Merseyside team beat the Hammers in their upcoming game. Manchester City also won the Manchester Derby and are closing in on the Blues. Of course, one side can’t win all the time however, in such a close title race, winning the small battles will ultimately win you the war. However, there is no time to waste so let’s take a look at the three points from the game against Burnley.
