2. Two points lost in the title race

The way Dyche’s men were playing from the first minute of the game, it was very evident that the Lancashire based team was only interested in a draw. There was almost no sense of attack from their side and their players were all sitting very deep inside their own half. Of course, there were a few chances where they did carry the ball forward however, for most of the game it was Chelsea who was dictating the game. The Blues are in the title race and they need every point that they can get, especially from sides that are lower in the table and are not performing that well.

This was a massive chance for the Blues to keep up their winning streak however, they blew away most of their chances and a one-goal lead is never very secure. Burnley is in a relation battle at the moment however, it never looked very determined to win the game. Chelsea made 25 chances in total and kept five shots on target. Numerous other shots were blocked and countless chances were skied by competent players. The Blues were so close to scoring one more goal and that is all that they needed to seal the points but luck was not on our side.

Burnley on the other side only upped the tempo after conceding the first goal. Even for the majority of the second half, there was no threat from their side. However, one move can make a difference and that is what hurt us today. This was two points dropped by the Blues today, as this will hurt the Champions of Europe much more than it will hurt the relegation-threatened team. These dropped points could allow the Reds to catch up to us and that would be a huge shame for us.
