3. Another clean sheet for the Blues

Another day and another clean sheet for the men in blue—well, technically yellow on Saturday. This is not for due to a lack of talent in the opposition, but rather this is because of the immense work put in by each and every member of the Chelsea defence. The midfield also deserves some praise. Starting with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho to Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Rudiger and Edouard Mendy, each one of them played their part in maintaining a clean and tidy defence. Although the Foxes did get behind the back line a few times and they even took a few long-range cracking shots, Mendy did more than enough to keep them out.

Rudiger was playing a bit more of a free and advanced role on the day, which often left Chalobah and Silva on their own at the back. However, the 37-year-old’s positioning is second to none and he can always out-wit the attackers by not giving them room to make a pass or go around him. Chalobah was also helpful on the day, but he could have done a bit better to put some more blocks in. Rudiger was, as usual, there when the defence needed him the most and the wingbacks kept running up and down to help both the attack and the defence.

On top of that, the Italian maestro, Jorginho, had a wonderful game on Saturday. Not only did he slow down the contest in the midfield and make a lot of recoveries, he also sent some amazing long balls over the top. This shows fans that he has the vision of a hawk and has the passing skills similar to the likes of Mesut Ozil. Kante was brilliant per usual as he never let a player go on a run for too long and even managed to score a breathtaking goal from outside the box. The Blues have conceded only four times in the league this season and if they keep this form up, they will be one of the hardest teams to break down all year long.
