2. A frustrating game for the Blues

While Chelsea has definitely improved on the scoring front in the recent few games, one thing it still needs to work on is its finishing. The Blues can create chance after chance throughout the game but they only end up taking one or two of their 20 chances created. This is a big disappointment at the moment since players like Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic can all finish a lot better, but in the last few games, they have been missing quite a few chances. That is hurting the team as a whole. In the recent match against Leicester City, the Blues won 3-0, but they also squandered at least three or four amazing opportunities, which could have made the scoreline even more lopsided.

Against Burnley, Chelsea dominated throughout the game and the Clarets were not even willing to go out to win the game. Burnley just wanted a draw but the first-half pressure from Chelsea was too much. The Blues got a much-deserved lead. However, after a host of missed opportunities, Thomas Tuchel’s men could not find another goal and one moment of brilliance from Sean Dyche’s boys pulled the game level. That is something the Blues will need to work on since Juventus will be even more tightly packed than Burnley, and scoring twice will be a very tough task.

Chelsea’s defence will need to be absolutely flawless and the players will need to display a lot of energy on the pitch. This is because the quick passing, high-pressure game style asks the defenders to play in a high line. When Juventus eventually gets on the ball, the Old Lady will try for a quick counterattack, which could easily expose Chelsea’s defenders who are playing in more advanced roles than usual. Not only will it be tough to score, but a moment’s lapse of concentration could also cost the Blues the three points. Thus, it could be a frustrating game.
