Chelsea hosts Juventus on Tuesday night as the Champions League returns to Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel’s side will be looking to extend its unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 matches after the last loss in Turin. The Blues need to find a way to capture all three points on the night if they want any chance at topping Group H. The Old Lady has already secured their place in the knockout rounds of the UCL and anything other than a loss would do that for the home side, as well. A lot of weight would be lifted off the European Champions’ shoulders with a positive result, can they overcome one of their biggest challengers this season and continue the journey to defend their crown?
Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:
Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2-0 Chelsea
Juventus will still be as defensively compact as it was in the reverse fixture, except this time the Blues will not be rubbish in all facets of the game. That will prove to be the difference in this one.
Tan Yi Hao: 2-0 Chelsea
Max Allegri has a lot to say about the Blues and the way they play for a manager whose team currently sits eighth in Serie A. What better way to showcase our superiority than beating Juventus in the game that could eventually determine the winner of Group H?
Anthony Gatt: 2-1 Chelsea
This is a must-win game going into the last group stage game in December, so I fully expect the team to get revenge from the reverse fixture. Juventus doesn’t have much going for it right now besides being top of this UCL group. The Old Lady will look to sit back and absorb pressure throughout the match once again, but the Blues at home will find a way through; winning 2-1.
Leighton September: 1-0 Chelsea
The Blues will grind out a very tactical battle between two top coaches. Being on home soil should see Tuchel’s men through in this match via a solitary goal to nil.
Olly Smith: 2-1 Chelsea
The last game against Juventus was one of the worst performances this season for Chelsea. Scratch that, it was the worst. Since then, the Blues have rediscovered their fluidity and killer instinct—despite not having either Lukaku or Werner. The Old Lady still poses a threat through Federico Chiesa and Paulo Dybala, but the home side will nab a late winner.
Barrett Rouen: 1-0 Chelsea
I just think we’ll even things up. Juventus is unfortunately more stable than when we lost to it previously though, so it’ll be a tough match.
Gabe Henderson: 3-0 Chelsea
The Blues are flying high right now after a 3-0 win at the King Power Stadium. Tuchel gets Werner back from injury and Lukaku off the bench will provide the necessary spark. Hudson-Odoi and Mount inspire the side to one of the most impressive performances of the season at a crucial time.
