Romelu Lukaku (No. 9) Right striker, Belgium

Lukaku has also come under lots of pressure from certain parts of the fanbase, but for completely different reasons than Timo Werner. Lukaku has done enough to show that he has a better big chance conversation rate than Werner, but does he have the propensity to get into those positions as much as his German colleague? A lot of unnecessary conversation is held about Lukaku’s preferred style of play and how he prefers to attack. However, more responsibility should be put on the Belgian all-time top scorer to get into more goal scoring positions however he sees fit in a match-by-match situation.

Mason Mount (No. 19) Central attacking midfielder, England

Mason Mount wasn’t very good when he came on against Brentford, but then again, no attacking player lit up the world in that game. Mount currently leads the Blues in goals and assists in the league, but interestingly has no goals, assists or big chance created in the just concluded Champions League group stages this season. Regardless of his midweek performance, he is in-form and had scored in four matches in a row up until then. His superb carrying skills should fit right in with how Tuchel wants the Blues to attack in the 3-5-2 formation

Christian Pulisic (No. 10) Left striker, United States

Christian Pulisic has come under a lot of unnecessary fire from Chelsea supporters over the last few weeks. This is perhaps due to his performances against Everton and Wolves where the American phenom was asked to play in the false nine role. One cannot fault Pulisic for simply trying to execute the job he was tasked with, especially considering he’s not suited for that role in the first place. Nevertheless, he’ll do well in a striking partnership with the juxtaposing style of Lukaku alongside him. Kai Havertz and Timo Werner remain out due to COVID-19 restrictions, so Tuchel’s options along the front line are limited at the moment.
