Chelsea at Tottenham player ratings: The Blues are through to Wembley
Timo Werner (Right striker): 7/10
Timo Werner was always going to be benefited by Romelu Lukaku’s strong physical presence alongside him up top. His constant threat of running in behind the defense kept the Tottenham defenders busy all night. It seems that the partnership of Lukaku and Werner will be something the Blues can rely on going forward. Werner was taken off for Alonso in the 66′.
Mason Mount (Central attacking midfielder): 6/10
Apart from his role in delivering the corner which led to the only goal of the game, Mount had a very average game, to say the least. After a decent run of form during the Christmas period, it seems that regularly playing at that time now is taking its toll on Mount as his form has dropped lately. Out of everyone, Mount will be the one to understand he needs to elevate his game.
Romelu Lukaku (Left striker): 7/10
The Belgian international did his fair share of pressing from the front and even tracked back to help the team out. Up top, his physical presence was the key part of he and Werner working well as a duo. Lukaku could have even had a goal to his name if it was not for a good strong save from Pierluigi Gollini. All in all, the Belgian striker is doing the right thing on the pitch to somewhat mend a fractured relationship with the Chelsea fans.
Hakim Ziyech (Central attacking midfielder): 6/10
Hakim Ziyech came in for Mount in the 66′ and was involved in a fair few attacks. His passing was crisp enough to find Lukaku from deep, but his delivery from corners was not up to the mark.
