Right winger: Raheem Sterling, Manchester City
Raheem Sterling has found himself back into Guardiola’s team slowly and has managed to make quite an impact. Sterling won the Player of the Month trophy recently, showing his magnificent form. The Englishman has scored seven goals and created one in the league and created four big chances. Moreover, he averages 1.4 key passes per game, and these statistics show his prowess. Sterling started the season off slowly, but he has done well since and deserves to be in this XI.
Striker: Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku makes this combined XI for several reasons. Firstly, Man City doesn’t have a recognised striker up front. Guardiola has played an exciting set-up this season and he doesn’t seem to need a goal-scoring striker. As far as options at Chelsea are concerned, Werner has been influential but not a regular goalscorer. Kai Havertz has been inconsistent in general. Despite all the controversies, Lukaku is a world class striker and possesses the skills to break any back line on any given day.
Left winger: Timo Werner, Chelsea
Werner remains a mystery to many Chelsea fans. He has been a topic of debate ever since he arrived and the German hasn’t done much this season either. However, his presence is essential to help the Blues get the best out of both Lukaku and himself. Both forwards used to play in a two-striker set-up at their previous clubs, which seemed to bring the best out of them. The chemistry between them is brewing slowly, but it will undoubtedly take time. Tuchel opted to go for a two-striker formation in recent games, which will benefit both forwards in the long run.
