Chelsea Predicted XI vs Brighton: 3-4-2-1 to start win streak?
Chelsea just lost to the Premier League leaders who are now 13 points clear of course the fanbase is in panic mode again. Thomas Tuchel has not even spent a year in the job and insinuations about what might potentially happen to his job. Tuchel is third in the table and Champions League qualification is not in danger. Chelsea has played many of the difficult games already, now they need to go on a winning run, but who does Tuchel give the nod to start that run?
Kepa Arrizabalaga (No. 1) Goalkeeper, Spain
Arrizabalaga was one of the few players that wasn’t a horrible disappointment against Manchester City. He made five saves and those making senseless “Mendy saves that” comments are really beyond help especially because Edouard Mendy is literally unavailable. The only reason people would still be making comments about Mendy is to fault Arrizabalaga for something that isn’t his fault. He did his best, and that can’t be said about many of the other players on the pitch
Antonio Rudiger (No. 2) Right centerback, Germany
Rudiger made his first appearance at right centerback for Chelsea against Manchester City. His long passing was not impressive, but he was very strong in the duels. He won three out of four duels and made the most clearances of everyone on the pitch.
Thiago Silva (No. 6) Centerback, Brazil
Silva was not impressive overall against Manchester City, though there were moments where he made crucial interceptions and won some key duels. Chelsea was on the back foot for the whole game and the defenders are the last people to blame in a game like that.
Malang Sarr (No. 31) Left centerback, France
Sarr was Chelsea’s best defender on the day. He made the most interceptions and tackles. He was really composed throughout the game. This is Sarr’s second Premier League start and once again he was impeccable. It’s good to see Sarr taking his chances when presented with them. He’s definitely on Tuchel’s mind now going forward and that’s credit to the Frenchman.
