Mason Mount (No. 19) Right winger, England

Mason Mount needs to atone for his sins, so he’s getting a baptism by fire in this contest. The Blues’ star boy was uncharacteristically poor in the Carabao Cup final, where he squandered numerous chances to put his side ahead. Mount was through on goal twice and failed to convert either opportunity, leading many supporters to rightly criticize his performance. Similar to Arrizabalaga’s “punishment,” Mount is likely going to be thrown right back into the mix at Luton.

The English wonderkid gives Chelsea the best chance at winning as he leads the team in most creative statistical categories. He has one assist in just one appearance in the FA Cup, he’ll be looking to add to that tally on Wednesday, should he make the starting XI. Hakim Ziyech remains out and Mount is now fully fit, so expect him to start on his usual right wing.

Romelu Lukaku (No. 9) Striker, Belgium

Romelu Lukaku scored the winning goal against Liverpool and I won’t hear otherwise. VAR wrongly ruled his goal out for offsides, despite Virgil van Dijk quite clearly playing him on. This goal would’ve potentially changed the trajectory of Lukaku’s second debut campaign with the Blues. Nevertheless, we move. Kai Havertz has been very good recently as a No. 9, but after going 120 minutes on Sunday, there is no reason for the German to start again. Lukaku can build on his positive substitute performance against the Reds with a solid showing versus the Hatters. It may be a bit much to ask on current form, but maybe the Belgian can bag a few goals? Time will tell.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (No. 20) Left winger, England

As noted earlier, I originally had Hudson-Odoi down as the right wingback for this game. Honestly, half of this starting XI is a crapshoot as Tuchel posed more questions about his team selection than he answered in his pre-match press conference. It’s just a personal belief that the team can get more out of the young Englishman on the left wing than as a wingback.

Hudson-Odoi has been absent from the line-up recently, mostly due to the solid showings from his teammates. Regardless, he will hopefully make the most of his chance if given the opportunity. He’s built a nice little relationship with Lukaku when they play together, an early goal could really help ease the pressure early on in a match on the road.
