Defensive midfielder: N’Golo Kante, Chelsea

N’Golo Kante has not really had the best season compared to what he’s known to contribute in years past. But even on his worst days, the French international will majestically work into any top team unscathed. Last season, he impressed with two Man of the Match performances against Real Madrid, bossing a midfield that had the likes of Casemiro, Tony Kroos and Luka Modric in it. Popularly known for his interceptions and excellent defensive ability, Kante doesn’t relent when it comes to forward play either. Chelsea supporters can look forward to seeing Kante bring his A-game on Wednesday, probably leaving with another Man of the Match-worthy performance.

Central midfielder: Luka Modric, Real Madrid

Luka Modric is undeniably Real Madrid’s best midfielder over the last few seasons, but especially throughout this campaign. Similar to Silva for Chelsea, the midfield maestro inexplicably defies age and this goes a long way to show just how much quality he has up his sleeves. Modric is constantly bossing the midfield, and the Croatian cannot be left off of this team sheet given all of his impressive performances for Real Madrid. He doesn’t seem to be retiring anytime soon either..

Central midfielder: Mateo Kovacic, Chelsea

On a good day, Mateo Kovacic is an absolute beast of a player. His ability to carry the ball past several players and breeze past them with ease makes him one of the best ball carriers in modern football. The former Real Madrid man was unavailable last time out for selection against his former club, but now he is at the peak of his powers and ready to roll. Kovacic has established himself as one of the key men in the Chelsea team and the Croatian is set to make a start come Wednesday. It goes without saying that Kovacic is definitely a game changer.
