The most successful way to overcome a disheartening loss to a rival, is to defeat another. Following the 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea immediately returned to Fulham Road and struck late on in the game to beat West Ham United. Marcos Alonso produced a fairly improved performance, as well as supplying the match-winning assist to Christian Pulisic. Pulisic will be thrilled that he could stamp his mark in an awkward campaign of his own while delighting fans, teammates and his boss by securing three points. This only happened, however, after Jorginho entirely disregarded a chance of attaining victory himself, through yet another poor penalty kick.

Although the display was littered with mistakes and sloppy passing again, it is important to remember the resolve of this Blues squad. Not to mention the strength of Thomas Tuchel to continue leading the side to a third place Premier League finish with all that is happening away from the field of play. In addition to injuries also affecting selection and an apparently dodgy pitch – yeah, Pride of London is not convinced of the legitimacy of that particular Tuchel gripe – the manager must also deal with a vital asset leaving the club.

Antonio Rudiger is leaving Chelsea. What might his Real Madrid contract length and wages be?

It will be a sad and thought-provoking occasion when Rudiger finishes his final contest with CFC. Sorrow and regret over what perhaps may have been will occur. Along with worry over which centreback could ever possibly replace the German stalwart. Though, that same sentiment was uttered and pondered when the great and imposing John Terry kicked his last ball at the Bridge. My point being that a significant club such as the Pensioners will find a colossus to fill the gap – if the London outfit doesn’t already own that person, or have them in their crosshairs.

If you haven’t seen the latest Chelsea news and are wondering why PoL is so sure Rudiger is leaving, Tuchel confirmed that personally following the 1-0 win against West Ham. The former Borussia Dortmund gaffer informed media, saying the 29-year-old will depart on a free transfer in June. Tuchel claims he was told “in a private talk“. The manager added that the West Londoners truly wanted their defender to remain with them, and tried everything but sanctions prevented it.

Obviously when transfer authority Fabrizio Romano speaks, people listen. And the renowned Italian reporter was announcing information on the imminent departure piece by piece, as day turned to night. Romano seems especially plugged-in to this negotiation as he revealed Rudiger will join Real Madrid, the newest Champions League foe of ‘Chels’.

Apparently the rated CB will sign a four-year contract with los Blancos, running until 2026. As you can see on the journalist’s tweet, Romano says an agreement is impending, potential in May. With regard to the wages ‘Toni’ will receive, that is astounding. According to Daily Mail, his earnings in Madrid will surpass the £230,000-per-week Blues offer. Though he did decline richer proposals from other clubs, presumably around a weekly 300k. Presently he only earns 100k-a-week, as per spotrac.
