While Chelsea’s end-of-season Premier League fixture list may look relatively easy to many, true supporters know that it’s seemingly a string of bogey team after bogey team. The reigning Champions of Europe (yes, I’m going to say it at every possible chance for the next few weeks while I still can) are on a bit of a topsy-turvy run right now. There has been the highs of thrilling wins over Real Madrid—albeit not enough to advance—and Southampton, but the Club World Cup Champions have also sunk to rock bottom a few times. Defeats to Brentford and Arsenal have made the top four race a little less comfortable for those in the driver’s seat.

The Blues still control their own destiny and look the favorites to secure a top four seed within the next few weeks. A win on Thursday over Manchester United would only serve to secure their spot even more than it is right now. Thomas Tuchel’s men have a healthy cushion over rivals Arsenal, Tottenham and the Red Devils. Truth be told, it’s a three-horse race with Chelsea and its two north London counterparts. If we’ve learned anything in years past, it’s that anything can happen as the Premier League campaign winds down. The Blues will need to overcome their demons from recent years though and pick up a first win at Old Trafford since 2013 if they want to secure three points.

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:

Caden Charpentier: 1-2 Chelsea

This is a statement match for Tuchel and the Blues. A nail-biter at the Bridge against West Ham gives this team a whole lot of momentum, and they ride it into Old Trafford. Chelsea’s midfield puts on a show, and Marcos Alonso gets on the scoresheet with a cracker.

Bryan Martin: 1-1 Draw

Let’s tackle this right away—Chelsea should win this match. Man United is a team in shambles headed for a massive overhaul this summer. Yet, this is exactly the type of match the Blues often find a way to squander. With injuries and exhaustion plaguing this team, it’s limping into the end of the season. Mathematically, a win will all but secure a top four finish, but I expect a stalemate with Timo Werner saving a draw in the second half.

Gabe Henderson: 2-1 Chelsea

This game makes me nervous. However, there is no way the Blues don’t scratch and claw their way out of Manchester with all three points . . . right? The Red Devils are in awful form and they don’t look inspired enough to really deserve a top four place. Tuchel’s men will rise to the occasion and overcome some adversity—just like at the weekend—and win this match.

Joseph Joe: 2-1 Manchester United

Man United is a team in shambles at the moment, but the Blues always have a way of making out of form teams look superior. It’s a game where the Red Devils should experience a drubbing, but instead, it’s a surprise away defeat for Chelsea and a return to form for Man United.

Leighton September: 0-2 Chelsea

I hope Charity FC is not in business, Mason Mount and Alonso to score! Let’s end our horror run without victory at Old Trafford.
