There is a lot to update Chelsea supporters on this bank holiday weekend evening. It is Sunday and the Blues were on Merseyside to face Everton, as you know. It was a match that the away club really never got going in, as I saw proceedings. There were plenty of opportunities for Thomas Tuchel‘s team, though opposition goalkeeper Jordan Pickford did not have to make many vital saves. Obviously the flow and intensity Tuchel’s sides are know for was evidently missing. Pride of London will discuss the lethargy amongst Pensioners personnel a little later in the article.

17 shots is no mean feat, creation-wise. Along with 79 percent possession being typically enough to fashion at least one or two perfect chances to score. Alas, it wasn’t to be as CFC were defeated 1-0. This encounter cannot exactly be described as a war of attrition by the Toffees. Yet they certainly soaked up pressure, then beat up and sucker punched the travelling Londoners. Following the match, the German gave his opinions on the loss. First of all, he said he was very disappointed with the result; citing a lack of clean sheets as a main reason for recent defeats. Additionally, the ‘Chels’ gaffer denounced constant defensive mistakes, questioning how they can restore good outcomes in the circumstances.

Everton supporters reportedly attempt to disrupt Chelsea players sleeping at hotel, trying to affect biggest Toffees game in years

Oh dear, as expected, the gaffer is becoming more annoyed week after week as the West London outfit crawl at snail pace towards what was a reachable as well as faith-instilling Premier League finishing line. Essentially, CFC must now attempt to be victorious in all EPL fixtures until the end of the season. In addition to hoping other performances from similarly placed top four wannabes are as inept as some of their recent displays.

Tuchel knew what was coming at Goodison Park; he stated himself that the squad predicted a hostile environment on the pitch and, naturally, from the crowd. However, what the former Borussia Dortmund manager maybe did not forsee were literal fireworks outside his and the players’ hotel on Saturday night/Sunday morning whilst sleeping. So, I alluded to tiredness in the Blues camp earlier in this piece: well apparently the pyrotechnics were set-off after midnight close to team accommodation.

According to the above tweet, loud bangs began at approximately 1.10am. Within that post is also a video showing a fairly elaborate, sustained and quite intense barrage. To be fair, it is as good as my local park’s bonfire events.

The subsequent tweet suggests it was made from an guest at the Hilton in Liverpool. He also includes what appears to be personally recorded footage of the incident. On this occasion, the clip is shown from inside of the building. There is a decent amount of noise and close lights are very bright in the sky.

Tuchel admitted the situation actually woke him up twice; although, the boss also claimed he went straight back to sleep each time. Adding that it didn’t affect Pensioners preparation. Clearly some Everton supporters tried to bother and disrupt Chelsea – whether they succeeded will never be properly known.
