Romelu Lukaku to reject Newcastle and Levi Colwill is ready for EPL
The vultures have begun circling for Chelsea squad pickings in parasitic magnitude. Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen will depart, if reports are correct. Could an end to sanctioning have saved at least the Rudiger loss? Possibly. Nobody truly knows. Christensen departing is not the end of the world; yet sends a terrible signal, as well as arguably encouraging other important personnel to do the same. Being as the sides they have been attracted to are – or were – the must prominent in the world, Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, the implications are not quite as severe as they could be.
This week, meanwhile, there have been further worrying links of prospective interest or potential bids for other vital Blues players. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is apparently a priority of Maurizio Sarri. Sarri is at Lazio, though was formerly the Pensioners boss. Christian Pulisic may also he targeted; the American has struggled to be a first XI starter and is said to be unhappy with game time. What is causing these problems for the current Champions League title-holders? Sanctions, nothing more. In fact, on Tuesday there was further confusion and possibly another complication in the bid to acquire CFC. You can read about that at the Times.
Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku will reject Newcastle United advance, while Levi Colwill wants Premier League action
Whether you are in the camp wishing for Romelu Lukaku to remain with ‘Chels’, or you want him gone, this is likely to be another drawn out saga, in Pride of London’s view. If I may, I’d also assert that signing a replacement and selling the Belgian would be preferable for the next team rebuild.
Lukaku is a talented, international-class striker, but might simply not be suited to the contemporary EPL. Nevertheless, what to do for the best is Thomas Tuchel’s conundrum; which will soon be Todd Boehly’s or Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s issue as well. In the meantime, media speculation links the attacker with multiple outfits.
Beginning with Italy, the former Inter Milan man will reject their rivals AC Milan. In addition, a claim is made that Lukaku would also decline the chance to join latest footballing powerhouse, Newcastle United. There is further talk that he is another of Tuchel’s men who is dissatisfied.
Right, an element to be excited over now, as there is still promise at Stamford Bridge. Well, on loan, as usual. Levi Colwill is tipped for the top; the centreback was outstanding for Huddersfield Town this season. Additionally, The Athletic suggest Colwill has a chance of securing a place on the Blues roster for the subsequent campaign. The 19-year-old believes he is EPL-ready.
Who knows, in a few weeks or a month, we could all be laughing about the concern regarding the takeover of the West London outfit. Hypothetically, the best choice ownership materialises, they attempt to offload overpaid deadwood, sign Erling Haaland and successfully replace ‘Toni’. Then Conor Gallagher is unreal as he takes his place in the XI, whilst lucrative, long-term new contracts are awarded to everyone who deserves one at the club. But then, maybe I’m a naive dreamer.
