Chelsea has gone from comfortable front runners in the top four race to the nervous leaders. Thomas Tuchel and his men have been sitting pretty in third, just out of the title race but seemingly out of any competition for the Champions League qualification places. However, fans have been treated to the same old song and dance over the last few weeks. The Blues—for whatever reason—have predictably begun to drop points as the season winds down once again. It’s the same story as the winter festive period, it happens every single season with this club, regardless of manager or personnel in the dressing room.

Thus, it goes without saying that Saturday’s contest with Wolves is a massive one. Chelsea has the opportunity to pull away from Spurs, the only team that it should really be worried about at this moment in time. The game against Bruno Lage’s struggling squad has the potential to be a six-pointer in the race for the top four in the Premier League with Tottenham taking on Liverpool later in the day. It’s a three-horse race for the aforementioned positions and it’s up to the Blues to seize the opportunity handed to them. Wolves proved a struggle earlier in the campaign, but that was on a rainy, foggy day in Wolverhampton with an exhausted and depleted squad. Tuchel needs to ensure his men are up for this match given everything that’s at stake.

Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:

Anthony Gatt: 1-1 Draw

Can the season just end already?

Joseph Joe: 0-1 Wolves

Chelsea has been terrible at home, Wolves are a side that is known for causing upsets. Truth is, we don’t just know what to expect.

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2-1 Chelsea

After struggling against a struggling Everton, it would be “a Chelsea thing” to also struggle against Wolves due to self-inflicted issues. The Blues need all three points, but Wolves do too right now. It will be a difficult game, partly because it’s Wolves and partly because every game for Chelsea is a difficult game at this moment in time.

Caden Charpentier: 1-1 Draw

This match is extremely unpredictable at the moment. Chelsea has struggled against Wolves, and this stubborn side has the potential to even cause an upset. A draw seems realistic for the Blues playing as poor as they are at home.

Kevin Peacock: 2-0 Chelsea

The season is slowly coming to an end and once it arrives, it will be a blessed relief. The season after season battle that the media has to try and do the Blues down is relentless. It drains me, and with everything else going on around SW6, it surely must be affecting the playing and management staff, as well. Despite that though, Tuchel simply must bolster his squad with enough bravado to finish the season in third place in the league and as winners of the FA Cup. The week’s rest after the Everton game will, hopefully, have restored some strength and resolve. Chelsea to get the job done with two goals from Romelu Lukaku.

Gabe Henderson: 1-0 Chelsea

Wolves is a stubborn—albeit struggling—side currently, but so are the Blues. I’m going to go with my colleague, Kevin, and predict Big Rom to be the match winner and restore the passion of the Stamford Bridge faithful. It won’t be pretty, but it will be a massive three points.
