Dear Thomas,

You have been a revelation as Chelsea’s head Coach since your arrival on January 25, 2021. In a famous man’s words, “you pulled us out of s**t”. We were wallowing in 9th place with a fractured dressing room and uncertainty as to whether there was even a way out. Many were convinced there wasn’t.

You showed there was a way out and fixed many things about the squad. You did it so easily that many thought your predecessor could have done it had he been given more time. You said the league was unattainable when you arrived but that the Champions League was still well within reach and that we would fight for that. True to your word you put the Champions League title in the Blues’ grasp.

You gave chances to players that were previously frozen out and they flourished. You expertly managed the awkward situation of having a world record £72 million second-choice goalkeeper. You changed the system to fit many players and chose what was best for the team at every turn. Well…almost every turn.

You led Chelsea through a takeover and were the voice of certainty and reasoning when there were a lot of speculations and a lot was being said about the club. You pledged your commitment to CFC when many did not want to be associated with the club. You even endeared yourself to the fans so much that many of them saw you as Chelsea’s best head coach to date, yes, over Jose Mourinho. You led Chelsea to a trophy that was missing from their trophy cabinet. Under your tutelage, the Blues completed football and became one of only six clubs to ever win all possible trophies available in club football. You did many things right, but unfortunately, you did not always remain consistent.
